Great staff, good pool, bad room

Unfortunately the room let down this hotel. unclean, cracks in the walls, bathroom full of ants and mosquitoes, broken cot for the baby, unclean linen, power trips 3 x a day, bland basic food. 1hr wait for a srilankan breakfast. Staff were very helpful and kind

Awful. The Pictures Attached Are Of The Double Room. Spend Less On A Better Hotel. Front Desk Staff, Awful. Room, Even Worse. Breakfast, Disgusting. I Have stayed At many Hotels Of A wide Range, I'm Not A Snob And Maybe I Got Unlucky With The Day But After Travelling The World I Have never Stayed anYwhere Worse, Including $10 hotels. No Blankets, Front Desk Unable tO answer The Most Basic Questions, Info Binder Provided ... BUt It Is Empty. The Manager Said All He Could Do was A Free SHuttle To The Airport (Hotel Charges $25 but Taxi Costs Only $10) and He Would Not Let US Leave Until We Wrote In his Guest book That He Was "Kind Enough" To Give Us A Free Shuttle. Please Stay Else Where.

Not the best experience

The hotel is attached to a convention center and obviously caters for that market. The rooms are small and so is the TV. There are no lifts, the aircon is preset. The neighbourhood is far away from the city. The food in the restaurant was below par for all three guests. For the price you can do better elsewhere. Charged us US 20.00 for 5km trip to airport. One good feature is a huge pool.

Pros: The personal. Nice great pool with sweet water, not so great as some other hotel. Only 1.5 km to the beach. Many shops on the street outside.
Cons: breakfast - WiFi can be much more better - room service
Location: Location is nice - nice restaurant in and outside - many shops outside the hotel
I stay there for buisness, three nights. Hotel is clean, personal frindly. I was alone there, so i have the pool for me! Breakfast can be better, maybe, when more visitors are in the hotel they have buffet, i don`t know. But for this price, it was really okay, all. Personal was friendly, clear.

Good stay. Closer to the airport. Not far from shops and a walk around. The fish market is interesting. Staff friendly and good accommodations. Nice pool.

Enjoyed our stay close to the airport. Nice to relax after a long journey. Staff was helpful. Stores and fish market not far. Fish market/Beach area interesting area to watch!

The Sri Lankan breakfast served is delicious & a must try. It was part of my complimentary B & B package. The service staff are super friendly & very courteous. The local tuktuk charges approx SLR 200 to take one from this hotel to the beach area which has some good night clubs. The hotel is of course at very short distance from International airport. On Fri /Sat a live band plays in dining area & they are good. People in the area know this hotel mainly because it hosts lots of wedding receptions.

Hotel claims to have many amenities that it actually doesn't offer. The Expedia description is completely wrong.

Disappointing experience overall!

Pros: It looks aesthetically pleasant on the outside and in the pictures posted on their website.
Cons: (1) Cleanliness and higher standards of hygiene and building maintenance; (2) Food provided by the hotel; (3) customer service
Staying at this hotel was an uncomfortable and disappointing experience. The hotel rooms are old with mold growing on the room walls and bathroom tiles. There was even a gaping hole in the ceiling of our room! Despite not opening the balcony doors of our room, the room was full of mosquitoes, and we spent two sleepless nights having to swat mosquitoes and hearing them buzz around our ears. We informed the hotel staff after the first night that the room needed cleaning, and when we returned, the sheets were not changed, and there were no fresh towels. After speaking to the front desk about the room, they promised to send someone to clean the room, but that eventually happened only after multiple reminders and an hour and half later. Even then, we noticed that the pillow cases were not changed, and the room was swept and not mopped ( you could see footprints on the floor). Breakfast was mediocre, and when we decided to order a Sri Lankan breakfast, the staff told us that we had to wait for an hour for breakfast to be ready. We also inquired about advice on visiting some of the attractions around town, and we were given false information by the reception which we only found out after hiring a driver to take us there. The hotel makes money from the wedding receptions that they have onsite, so be prepared to bear with loud drumming and music late into the night. Overall, hotel has poor customer service, poorly trained staff and low standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
