Great location in spectacular countryside. There's nothing else around within walking distance so it was a shame we felt so rushed at dinner there. Plates were being whisked away the moment you put your cutlery down. There's a difference between efficiency and making you feel that they wanted you out of the restaurant as quickly as possible.

Atmospheric parador with wonderful mountain views

Posted 9 Jun 2018 on Hotels
Beautiful atmospheric parador in former grand hunting lodge located on the side of a hill with magnificent views of the snow capped mountains. Very good value for money. Staff very pleasant and helpful. We would have liked tea and coffee facilities in the room and the bar/cafe to be open in the morning for a light breakfast

Exceptionally helpful reception staff

Posted 21 Apr 2018 on Hotels
Exceptionally helpful reception staff who resolved several problems - not related to the hotel itself. These included a breakdown of my rental car. A good place to hang out in early April snow.

Great classic hotel, beautiful setting

Posted 11 May 2017
Pros: Location and views
Cons: Parking lot could be better
Location: Birding is great right on the grounds of the hotel. La platforma, classic mountain hike.
Elegant place, very charming and located right in the heart of prime birding locations

Great location to explore the sierras and relax

Posted 19 Jul 2016
Pros: Its location and its old charm ambiance.
Cons: Bars (see above). Breakfast. More invormation regarding trails and places of interest. A pool for those hot days couls be a nice feature...
Location: Walk a trails and visit adjacent towns.
Overall we had a good experience. Things that are misssing include enough personnel to attend the guest i.e. one waiter to serve the three bars (one permanently closed) that resulted in long waits for service. The general bar is fairly plain and not particulalrly atractive . Given the many saloons available, the hotels would be better served by conditioning one of them with great outdoors views where people could confortably gather, talk, see enjoy tghe views and have drinks before and after the meals. The breakfast could improve given the price.

delightful mountain lodge.

Pros: very peaceful
Cons: No iron
Location: middle of nowhere ... but easy to find.
Lovely hotel in the middle of nowhere but really only 60 km from Avila - old style lodge - traditional dining room produced excellent breakfast and dinner. Great for mountain views and access to Puente Pico and the Roman Road. Cool in the height of summer.

Lovely location, beautiful rooms and good service. Breakfast the best we have experienced at many hotels in Spain. Will definitely stay again
