A Memorable Experience
Posted 9 Dec 2023 on HotelsThis ryokan is in a beautiful location. Mr. Toshi went above and beyond to provide us excellent hospitality, a meal, and even showed us around Shiobara region and drove us to our bus stop. He was so helpful
and caring to my family.
The food, onsen, and rooms are wonderful.

Small, quiet onsen along the river
Free coffee, house cats and dogs to love on and a great host

Very beautiful location during autumn with a mountain view and waterfall. Was surprised to see many animals and staff were very casual/friendly. The hot springs was very simple and not good as expected.

Thank you for your stay and comments. Thank you for your note about location and waterfall. Our lodge is not large one so that we basically have hinoki wood indoor bath and one outdoor bath, one each for men and women. In big hotels, one may encunter many different kinds of onsen bathing areas so that more exciting. However, in terms of soaking 100 % natural onsen, we are good because large faicilities are often forced use chlorine because given amount of onsen water, many people bath. However, in small facilities like us, we use 100% onsen water and the amount of onsen allow us not use chlorine most of time. For me, it is a bit dissapoing to fee a tiny bit of chlorine odor after one soak in onsen. Well, in all cases thank you for your stay and comments.

An amazing time there. Wish the weather was better, but the onsen there was nice. Super simple check in and friendly staff. Clean room, clean robes, overall great stay.

In the past, I traveled all over the world, and I always enjoyed small establishments, neatly run, cozy, and where the efforts of owners are seen. We try the best we could toward that direction. Great discovery
Posted 26 Oct 2018 on HotelsGreat place, very comfortable, privileged location in a quiet and scenic corner of the hot spring resort town. The outdoor hot spring bath has a great view. Owners are very friendly and helpful, they know the area well.
