Comfortable but old fashioned

Posted 21 Sep 2017 on Hotels
Situated in a beautiful area, this hotel is rather old fashioned and needs to be updated and redecorated. Comfortable enough but let down with the smell of cigarettes which pervaded the place some of the time.

Najac is amazing and the hotel was great. Very conveniently located next to tiny train station. You have to walk up the hill to Najac, but I think that is better than staying in the town. The hotel's restaurant is very good and a great deal. Pool is nice plus after a hike or bike tour.

Beautiful location and views

We came across this place almost by accident. Although it's a drive back to the small, picturesque village, this boutique hotel is absolutely lovely, quiet and right by the river (soothing sound at night). It gives you stunning views of the castle on the hill. Bed was comfortable, room immaculate.

A hidden Gem!

Lovely location, our room was huge, with windows looking our both sides of the building, and a lovely view of both the Chateau and the waterfall. We ate dinner in the restaurant and had the best service I've had in a restaurant in France in AGES! Very friendly and personable staff all around.

My Third Visit

Posted 20 May 2013 on Hotels
This is the third time that I’ve stayed here – though I’ve been visiting Najac for over 40 years. The location, certainly for anyone who knows Najac, doesn’t need any comment. I enjoyed my visit this year more than ever. The last time I came I made a minor gripe in my report about the freshness of the croissants in the morning – if only to have something to gripe about, and therefore to make my glowing report a little more believable. The thing is that, whether because of what I said, or maybe I’m not the only one to have commented on it, the croissants were fresh this time round; so thank you for that. Furthermore, a couple of minor complaints that I made this time direct to the owners were acted on promptly and efficiently. I felt that they appreciated the fact that I bothered to notice, rather than seeming irritated by me. So, what can I add as negative this time? The music in the restaurant. Music in restaurants is something that I dislike generally; the tracks they were playing at le Belle-Rive this year, however, were peculiarly reminiscent of the Grand Hotel, Scunthorpe on raffle night. The good thing is that the food was good enough to distract me from my annoyance – as was the service; both in the restaurant, the rooms and around the hotel generally. A particular thank you to the Polish cleaner who went the extra mile in finding alternative bedding for my companion who found the duvets too warm. I’ll be back (but please, no more music in the restaurant!)
