A Cottage in the Beautiful Woods

Posted 20 Aug 2013
We had a good time. A caveat- Ramgarh is not a place for shopping or adventure sports and doesn't have the hustle-bustle of Nainital, but it is a place where you can sit down, slow down and reinvigorate yourself. The view from our room's balcony was breathtaking. The room was beautiful- the wood furnishings made it a quintessential old-world cottage. The surrounding woods make for a great trekking trail. On the flip side, the meals were a tad expensive (and since the place is a tad secluded, one is left with few options if staying in Ramgarh) and there was no a la carte room service choices. I hope this is added soon. One must remember to haggle for cab rates. Also, the service levels were inconsistent. All in all, we liked the place. The food was uniformly excellent. The little library had a good selection of books. I would recommend this resort to all those who're looking for a place to relax in the arms of nature.

Average hotel but beautiful location

Posted 24 May 2013
Pros: Staffs hospitality
Cons: Maintenance of hotel
Location: Peaceful, pleasing
This was an old property and require maintenance. Entrance to hotel which is the first impression, could have been a lot better. Reception area needs some work. Rooms were good and staffs too. Service was very good. Food was just OK. Location was beautiful, very peaceful and surrounded by mountains. In short, hotel is average but the location makes it pleasant.

In the lap of nature at Ramgarh

Posted 29 Jan 2013
Pros: The windows of the room overlooking the himalayas.
Location: Its located 25 km from Nainital - in the midst of mountains..
The hotel is in the midst of mountains and the room overlooks the Himalayas. Its a wonderful place to have an accommodation. The place is in Ramgarh, which is 25 km from Nainital (not 9 as mentioned on Expedia). The stay was very comfortable - The person incharge - Mr. Kamal, was very helpful and took care of all details. He made the stay very homely for us.

We had a really nice stay. The area is gorgeous. There is not much to do around the hotel but that was exactly what we were looking for. The staff of the hotel are very friendly and nice people.
