Affordable local hotel on the outskirts of Munich
Posted 8 Oct 2018 on HotelsA very pleasant place to stay for an Oktoberfest visit. The Hotel and Cafe Paso at Vierkirchen is a 40 minute suburban train ride to central Munich. There is a 20 minute service from the station that is adjacent to the hotel. It's a comfortable and clean little hotel that can't be faulted. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel but we dined in the breakfast room that seems to have the same menu. Affordable meal prices and good German beer. The rates are good and even the 55% surcharge during Oktoberfest makes it considerable more affordable than central Munich. Sufficient English spoken and the staff are friendly. There are local supermarkets almost adjacent to the hotel. But the area has a small village atmosphere and that adds to the charm. Those arriving and departing by train will find the station ramps make carrying luggage easier. (Not every local German station has a ramp or a lift!).
