The bungalows are fine. It’s a budget place so set your standards accordingly. The owners are very friendly but only speak minimal English. There’s not much around so rent transportation of some kind. They do not have bikes to loan/rent. The wifi was the strongest I experienced in all of FP. The restaurant is very mediocre so again, rent transportation to get to restaurants. They also did not provide a kettle so being self sufficient with caffeine wasn’t possible. But the bed was comfy and it’s in a good spot to get to multiple places on the island. The islanders are familiar with it too so it’s an easy landmark.

Location is great for snorkeling right off the cabin. Free kayak is a great facility. Food choices are unfortunately very limited and there is no restaurant within walking distance at night for dinner.

Wouldn’t recommend

This hotel, in my opinion, is not worth the stay. The restaurant food is decent, and the view in the garden is okay. However, there were many many bugs in our room. There were ants all over the sink, the toilet had issues flushing, there were ants and spiders seen on our bed, the fridge and bathroom mirror were extremely dirty (looked like somebody had thrown mud at them). The only upsides were that the view was pretty nice, and the employees were kind.

Host was friendly & cordial. It would have been nice to have an electric pot to have tea or coffee whenever we wanted.

We loved the place for a low budget stay. Our host Gustavo took amazing care of us. 3 meals a day. Made arrangements for excursions. The ocean in front of the bungalow was perfect. Had a special stay there.

More like a hostel, great service though!

I booked what I thought was a private bed with shared bathroom. Ended up being about 6 or 7 of us in an attic with fans for air circulation. So more of a hostel than what I am used to for a dormitory style. The owners are super nice and friendly and breakfast is free so while I wasn't crazy about the sleeping arrangements, it was an incredible bargain for the island.

Waterfront Camping

Posted 6 Feb 2020 on Hotels
We had a great time, after reading lots of bad reviews I wasnt expecting great service but I couldn't fault it. Hotel doesnt have a lot around so recommend getting bike or scooter which reception will help with. Rooms, tidy but bathroom needed a lot of work, tiles falling off mould and had to hold shower head. More like waterfront camping where you have a fan, fridge and dont need to pitch a tent. We enjoyed our stay. A few little changes and this hotel would be fantastic

This place is OK - but the manager Solange is EXTREMELY RUDE!!! I just asked for a cup up hot water - and she started yelling at me!! This is unbelievable!!! I have never experienced such a lousy service! What they charge for their food in their small restaurant is outrageous - I guess this is how they make most of their money. So when you are not eating at their lousy restaurant - but rather make your own food /cofee / tea - they are furious. I asked a few times for a cup of boiled water from kitchen - and they became furious about it - again, manager Solange is EXTREMELY RUDE and nasty. The conditions in their kitchen are extremely ANTI SANITARY ( I stepped in and saw for myself!) So you might be careful about what they give you to eat. If you are staying in Garden View Bungalows - you BREKFAST IS NOT INCLUDED! They will charge 1000 CFP francs ($ 10) for a few pieces of bread, butter, marmalade, a cup of coffee and 3 pieces of pineapple - that's it. Extra coffee (pretty lousy) costs $ 3 to save money - I recommend just bringing portable immersion electric water heater - make as many tea cups or coffee as you would like without asking them every time. You can buy pretty good cheap food and a Champion supermarket ( 20 min drive from Motu Iti) The place itself is OK - I stayed in Garden View bungalow. But manager Solange definitely needs to learn some basic manners and correct her attitude issues!
