The property was in a great location. The plants, flowers and overall garden areas were pretty. The rooms were clean and well maintained. My only complaint is small - I asked for a wake-up call and I didn’t receive one.

Small and not ventilated room. Otherwise comfortable bed with clean bedding, clean and spacious bathroom.
Convenient location.

We are half way through our stay. On the plus side, I do like the location, as it’s close to downtown and very walkable. Check in was easy and the employee was very nice and helpful.
They do charge $17/day to park, which is unnecessary. It’s all open parking, and the “free” car charger is not working.
The room is large and clean and the bed is comfortable (soft). We got put in an accessible room, which is fine.
You can tell the room was either a smoking room at some point, as there is a very faint smell still lingering in the room. The room is also close to the maintenance shed and dumpster, so it’s kind of noisy, even very early in the morning.
For the price paid, I would at least expect some complimentary water bottles in the room, especially since it marathon weekend. Most hotels I’ve stayed in for races usually do some nice extras for the runners these weekends.
Overall, this is a decent place to stay while in Monterey, but there were still a few negatives to keep me from bumping it up a star.

I love the open air style of Casa Munras. Walking out of the room into gardens with the seagulls and sunshine is my style. So much better than a big hotel on the water where you cannot gain access to the water, or the sun, smells and nature that make Monterey great.
