Great location near the Mississippi River, Guthrie Theatre, stadium, & Mill museum, plus Trader Joe's on the ground floor! This is a small apartment, with more space than a hotel room -- double closet, windowless bedroom, & living area with pullman kitchen & breakfast bar. But no work space! No desk or table & no electrical outlets in main area except for the streaming screen (for your phone -- not TV). Other problems: no hooks in the bathroom, & big wall-mounted jugs of shampoo & bath gel. My gel jug squirter didn't work but got gel all over the slick tub floor, making showers life-threatening. Since there's no access to service except through the app, & no instructions about operating anything, this place is best if you're not doing much here but sleep.

The property was great. Was clean, for most part. Two of the towels were not very clean and the iron board was broken. Over all the stay was nice and pleasant.

So the keyless feature was nice. Would have been a bit better if the keyless feature was also an option for the entry door from Trader Joe's. At least I did not see it. Had to go outside and then inside. Building nice, felt secure and the it felt safe. Friendly residents, it seemed. The apartment was nice, obviously new. Had a couple issues. The floor was clean, but sticky, likely due to the cleanser used (like spray and wipe stuff). The electric tea pot, so far I could determine never switched off (the water just kept boiling); and the shower drain did not properly drain (it is one of those pop up ones that needs to be turned or moved to stay all the way up). I left the management know and they quickly responded and took care of everything. Floors redone, new tea pot and life was good. They responded quickly and were prompt. Thank you Sonder management. The tub drain mechanism I disassembled (I always travel with a few tools) and then reassembled. There was a bit of a clog in the drain. Nothing serious. All worked well afterwards. The stove light (microwave nightlight) did not work and was promptly replaced, too. For my part, as I travel, I cook and clean up after myself. I'd like to see a few more pieces of cookware available, perhaps a steamer for fresh vegetables; and perhaps a little nicer frying pan (I am not a fan of Teflon). I also tend to wash my dishes rather than use the dishwasher, so a small bottle of liquid dish soap would be nice.

Good option for long stays

Posted 17 Feb 2024 on Hotels
I stayed for 5 weeks and needed a kitchen and laundry; for that, the apartment is perfect. It's clean and has all the basic stuff. The fridge is great. Laundry is great. Plus, it's right above Trader Jose, very convenient for grocery shopping when Minnesota is so cold in winter time. However, it's not meant to be your real apartment, so the cooking amenities are minimal and not the best kinds. Just two simple pots and one pan, which are both sticky and only good for boiling something simple. My other complaint is the bed. It's not as good as normal hotel beds that I was used to. The quality is in between your guest bed at home and a real hotel bed. If you stay for a long time, it can be a problem if your back needs a hotel-quality bed. Overall, I still think it is a very good option for long-term stays or for a family.
