What's not to like about a beautiful historic inn in central Vermont that was featured in the Bob Newhart show? It's well kept, and the staff are friendly and personable. I didn't get to try the food, but the restaurant is clearly popular.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night during our trip to Vermont and we adored it. Its quiet, charming, and very hands off which I like. We called ahead of time to inform the desk staff that we’d be arriving a bit later then typical check in hours and they were very willing to provide us with our keys and the door code so that we could get in after operating hours. Fortunately we made it on time, but the fact that they even offered was more than we had anticipated. The on location restaurant was far better than your average hotel room service with affordable beer and drink, and the complementary breakfast was a limited menu but had one of the better breakfasts I’ve eaten in recent months. It feels homemade and that’s because it is. Almost everything on the menu, down to the yogurt, was locally sourced. We would not only stay here another night but make a trip out of it to stay here for longer. It’s that charming.

This is a beautiful property. The staff and innkeeper are efficient and friendly. Cookies in the room and on the front desk were a nice touch. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room at night was perfect for Valentine's Day. The piano player was outstanding.

The uniqueness were no clocks in rooms, no tv in rooms and the atmosphere was relaxing. The things we didn’t like were The day before you check in they hold your whole reservation cost plus an extra $ 200 from which ever account your using, they do not tell you about this when booking… They hold the money till you check out. I brought this up to the front desk and she said they get multiple calls from people complaining the Waybury Inn does this, she also stated people state they are strapped for money due to the Inn not telling people about this an just taking and holding it…Breakfast was not good, pancakes were raw and meat was questionable.

The inn is charming and quirky. It may not be for everyone, but the breakfast was lovely and the room generally comfortable.
