Excellent choice for central Merida

Posted 13 Jun 2022 on Hotels
Friendly staff, comfortable, quiet room with a decent sized fridge, excellent aircon even on very hot days, good eating options nearby. If you have a car, I suggest going directly to the nearby "Cervantes Parking" unless you have lots of baggage to offload. You'll get a discount coupon for the parking at checkout time.

Sadly when we checked in our bathroom had such an awful stench of sewers that it made us feel sick. At first they refused to change our rooms so we went out for a couple of hours with a promise they would get rid of the smell. On our return a different receptionist said it had been done but again the stench hit us as soon as we opened the bathroom door. I said we would have any other room in the hotel but couldn’t sleep in the one allocated. The receptionist rang the boss an£ eventually we were moved. The new room was almost identical and did not smell - what a shame they did no5 move us right away! That said we couldn’t have faulted things from then on. The location was perfect and as we had to take an early train before breakfast they even gave us drinks and eats to take in a carrier bag. Please hotel sort this room for other people- it must save you money in the end!

We overnighted here between trains .. walking distance. Very efficient and helpful staff at front desk. Refurbished rooms and bathrooms .. Good value. Great view overlooking local park.

Great location for touring Merida.Good value

Posted 28 Oct 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: A location, price, staff, cleanliness
Cons: Beds pillows mattresses, sound isolation
Location: 1 minute to commercial center, pedestrian only streets with shopping, bars and restaurants. 5 minutes to major monuments, tourist attractions.
Loved the location, we walked everywhere in minutes. Staff super friendly, knowledgeable. Facility spotless. Breakfast available in hotel or outside at reasonable for a hotel price, but we found a great place across street with large variety of items at lower price and ate there. Rooms small but great WiFi everywhere. Bathroom small, no bath but recently remodeled. Plenty of on demand hot water with plenty of pressure. Two complaints though. Bed mattresses spongy and covered with plastic covers. We'd requested 2 twin beds, so maybe we got a kids room. I'm sure staff would've removed them, my bad for not asking. 1 meter long hard pillow. Noise is an issue as walls flimsy and we enjoyed all of our neighbor's conversations. Patio noise front closed window, hallway and adjacent stairwell noise as people pass or enter/leave rooms. But still slept well and hotel has small number of rooms noise was minor issue. We'd go back. Just don't expect 5 star comfort from a very good 2 star hotel.

Convenient Check In Time

Posted 13 Jul 2017
We were able to check in late thanks to their 24 hour desk which was convenient. The room was clean and the bed was relatively comfortable. My issue was that the shower head didn't stay up so you had to hold it with one hand and wash with the other.

Nice clean modern hotel close to all points of interest. Good beds, bathrooms OK but limited public rooms or lounge. Good value for money.

For the price hotel is good..BUT its walls a bit on the thin side and you can hear EVERYTHING from your neighbors sides or upstairs... and I mean everything...
