It was quite empty as we stayed the day before Christmas Eve. Staff was adequate but not super friendly, which was fine.

Travelers should be aware that the hotel does not allow 4 adults to stay in the triple rooms even though the room has a queen bed and two singles. This limitation is buried in their terms and doesn’t make a great deal of sense. The only explanation we received was that “it is the rule”.

A bit disappointing
Posted 12 Jul 2023 on HotelsMelk is a beautiful little town and a nice place to shop. The hotel is situated in a good place but it is quite dated, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. Unfortunately the rooms have no air conditioning and it was very hot. Some of the floors are split level so be prepared to carry your luggage up a few stairs.

The pictures of hotel are deceiving as I never did see the restaurant with the brick as displayed in the pictures. It may be a picture of the distillery down the street. There is dated carpet in the rooms so be sure to bring your “inside shoes”. Very clean and very friendly frontline staff and parking is onsite which is a plus.

Beautiful property in the picturesque town of Melk. Super convenient to the train. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Loved hearing birds sing outside our window. Definitely recommend.
