Initial communication was fast, professional and friendly and stayed that way. The little touches of welcome throughout the cottage are amazing. Very generous breakfast and a beautiful garden. Highly recommend,

Cosy stay close to Belgrave train station
Posted 31 Mar 2023 on Hotels Perfect place to stay if you want to catch the puffing billy train. Also a recycle bin will be good.

Thanks so much for your review Pauline. It was lovely to meet you both. Unfortunately, there's no space for a recycling bin in the kitchenette. We recycle everything that our guests leave as there's a recycling bin up at the gate.

Gorgeous property, cozy and charming B&B. Very clean and tidy, lots of lovely little touches to the area and the room. The hosts were wonderful and friendly, happy to help with anything needed. Will definitely be coming back to stay again in future.

Cosy cottage with a great host
Posted 18 Nov 2019 on HotelsThe cottage is really nice and cosy with nice seats out in front to chill and soak in the surroundings. Margaret, our host, was also really friendly and helpful. She provided us additional breakfast items when she worried the original items might not suit our palate. She also provided us medicine when one of us felt ill and offered to drive us to the nearest town when we said we needed to rent a car.
Great place to stay if you want to take a ride on Puffing Billy!

Charming self-contained cottage

Cons: Nothing!
Warm and inviting free standing, self-contained cottage, 5 minutes away from the centre of Belgrave. Lovely furnishings, the smallest details taken care of. Gorgeous garden surrounds to look out on, especially with the autumn colours. Generous continental breakfast, and the owner Margaret was lovely and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Cute and comfortable attic bedroom, with 2 beds, tv/dvd player and heater was a bonus and made the stay fun! Close enough to the Belgrave town centre to walk, and take advantage of cafes and the cinema. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay, highly recommend and will definately return!!

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Location: Puffing Billy is the star attraction, the scenery is outstanding and a drive through the puffing billy route I'm sure would be just as relaxing.
Belgrave has alot to offer and a stay at Stones Throw Cottage will not disappoint, its cosy,comfortable and well appointed , the cottage is within a 10 minute walk to town and the main attraction Puffing Billy, if you are arriving by train take my advice let Margaret know and she may be able to come and pick you up.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: The only thing that could be improved would be the noisy fan in the bathroom but that's all. Everything else was charming.
Location: Belgrave is a lovely place in the Dandenong Ranges near the Puffing Billy railway station. The cinema is good and great places to eat.
My husband and I absolutely loved Stones Throw Cottage in Belgrave. Margaret and Rob were so welcoming and friendly, felt like we'd known them for ages. The cottage was so comfortable and cosy and the back verandah and decking was wonderful, so much greenery everywhere was so relaxing and private. Bed was very comfy and the breakfast supplies were delicious. Would recommend this lovely cottage to anyone, very romantic for a couple and has 2 single beds in the attic room upstairs as well. Loved this place and we will definitely go back again. Thanks so much Margaret and Rob, we were sad to leave.
