Meiji Memorial Forest Takao Quasi-National Park

The view from the top of Mount Takao.

You can hike up the mountain by various trails (about 4km). Or you can take a lift or the mountain rail, without any climbing.

The mountain is popular throughout the year, located only an hour away from Shinjuku. I would suggest going during the week, if you don't like crowds.

If you're lucky, you can even see Mount Fuji from here.

Closest Station: Takaosan-guchi Station on the Keio Line.

Washer/Dryer inside the room was great. Separate shower and toilet was great. Hotel was very clean. Windows could use a little more sound isolation from outside noise.
