We tried to cancel the reservation but were told we could not because it was booked by a third party. My husband booked a fishing trip with friends, the fishing trip was cancelled because of bad weather so he no longer needed the hotel. I tried to get a refund but to no avail.

Hello Kay,I am sorry that we could not help you with your cancellation request on your arrival date.Unfortunately your reservation was made using a discounted prepaid nonrefundable, non-cancellable reservation method which is the risk you take making this form of reservation. Also, as all reservations that would have the ability to be cancelled it is stated on the reservation confirmation letter it states all reservations must be cancelled 24 hours prior to arrival date which in your case would have been 3:00 PM on 06/04/2024, and not the day of arrival 06/05/2024 at 2:11 PM on the extranet that is not manned 24/7. We have no capability to cancel at the hotel level in this situation.Hopefully we can serve you better in the future.Best Regards,

This facility appears to be brand new. Everything is clean and beautiful and well-stocked. The man at the check was friendly and helpful. We really liked him. The hotel does not yet have a sign out front and there is nothing within walking distance but plenty of restaurants near by if you have a car. Easy access to downtown Medina with its wonderful, historic buildings.

A little on the pricey side, as well as pricey on what little snacks that were available. Breakfast was good and primary reason for chosing this particular establishment was location.

Good and not so good.
Posted 5 Nov 2023 on HotelsThe hotel had no visible signage inside or out and there were very few guests. In fact, I only saw 5 other people and they were in town to attend the same wedding. It made for a quiet stay but it was a bit creepy (It was Halloween.) The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable. Although I was ultimately only charged for the three nights I actually stayed, there was a problem with the billing while I was onsite. I had reduced my stay from 4 to 3 nights, prior to arriving, and in the morning I realized I had been charged for the original 4 nights plus an additional night. The clerk said it was because I had reserved my stay until Friday which was not the case and I even showed her the itinerary from Hotels.com but she said the manager would need to handle the situation but he was not available until 4pm which was the time of the wedding. The next day was busy with another family activity and a flat tire on my van. On Thursday, the day of my departure, I found a tire repair shop and then returned to the hotel to checkout. That same clerk I had dealt with previously said I wasn’t scheduled to leave until Friday. I reminded her I never reserved a room for that night and said I would be calling the manager once I returned home but that I needed to leave then. Once I returned home I noticed a charge for another night on my credit card. These were all pending charges but it was over $1100 for 6 nights when I only stayed for 3. Good ending thankfully.

We appreciate the good rating and your complimentary feedback in regards to friendliness of staff, and the comfort and size of your guestroom as we work hard and take pride to ensure that our guests have the best possible experience while staying with us.When booking through a third party it is always best and necessary to go through that party for any change in reservation dates such as your case as that is their requirement. Also, as for your billing what you saw was actually the authorization charge by your bank which includes all your days room rates plus taxes and the usual additional 20% hold by your bank to ensure funds for your complete stay which all fall off within one to 10 business days after your departure. Upon checkout you were only charged for the 3 nights that you stayed thus all the extra authorization charges by your bank fall off. This is the case on all transactions made by anyone purchasing fuel and at restaurants.We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay and hopefully we will see you again.Thank you for choosing the Comfort Inn & Suites- Medina, NY.Best Regards,Dean H.Comfort Inn & Suites
