Short trip in the Dordogne
Posted 3 Aug 2018 on HotelsStopped 4 nights. The service was excellent and so was the food. Although it was an event rather than just a meal so it took all evening. Served on picturesque terrace. Superb pool for working off a few calories. Only 10 rooms so quite a personal feel about it. Would highly recommend.

tranquil hotel

Pros: The bed was very comfortable, staff looked after us well, everywhere was clean and well maintained.
Cons: Some more varied background music in the restaurant (seemed to play on a loop the same songs over and over).
Location: Quite a remote location, nearest town about 20 minutes drive if looking for alternative eating options (and food at hotel fairly expensive).
Hotel is set in beautiful grounds and staff are very helpful and attentive. Service is quite formal and food quality is excellent. The room was lovely, just a basic double but had a very nice walk in shower and came well equipped and very clean and modern. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Plenty of free parking and nice terrace for evening drinks and meals (in warmer weather).

Short stay but excellent

The room, although rather small (only a double bed - we would have preferred something larger) was beautifully decorated and all our needs had been taken care of. The location of this small hotel is superb. Dinner, which you have to book during the day, was excellent and could not be faulted in any way. There was a lot of 'care' at this hotel. The owner was on hand to answer all our questions, and the intern who was gaining work experience during the holidays from a hotel school in Lucerne, was exceptionally good. The good sized swimming pool had a plentiful supply of reading material (a nice touch) and towels. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would very much like to stay there again.
