This is our third visit to Saletoga, and we were in the same Villa we had been in the past, which is now looking and feeling tired. Beds were uncomfortable, and small repair jobs needed to be completed, broken fan face (still operational) broken soap shelf detail (still usable). Small detail, toilet roll not replaced on arrival. However clean towels, bedding and room, with air con and small fridge which is always welcome.
Unfortunately there was a staff member Sanjay who did not give us the same service he was giving other white guests, which was disappointing. However at the Spa Sailau always gives a fantastic deep tissue massage - highly recommend. We stayed an additional night and were moved to an available Villa by the kids playground. A lovely space, which we enjoyed better. Saletoga has a special place in our hearts, the grounds and gardens are beautiful, with water refill stations, and the breakfast buffet delicious!

Positives and negatives.
The rooms are great, resort setup is great, lovely beach front location.
However, the service is not great, felt a burden. Towels were dirty, were difficult to get. Room cleans were brief. Food was hit or miss. We went at a very humid hot time and they are tight on the use of aircon. There is no aircon in the facilities, including the spa and gym, when we arrived our room was like a sauna and the aircon units hardly cool down your room. I would have liked to arrive to a cool room so I could start to adjust. There was no escape from the heat. I personally struggled with this but it might not bother others. If I had taken my kids (in particular the youngest), it would have been a struggle.
Finally, a few months earlier, our flight got cancelled so we had to reduce our stay by one night. The resort refused to alter this.
We did have a good time, but I wouldn’t return unless big changes were made, service, cleanliness and aircon.

An excellent stay. Beautiful resort and quiet. Beach is on your doorstep and food was great. Plenty of trips organised by resort and we had Tana as our driver who was very knowledgeable and told us plenty about the history of the area and country. Snorkelling was good and plenty of sea life in the coral. An excellent stay and would highly recommend it.
