This was a short stay on our way to the Madrid airport. We were disappointed that the hotel was not located closer to city center as we have enjoyed Alcala de Henares on previous trips.

The only problem that I found was that the air conditioner was not working.

This hotel is located in one of the best areas in Madrid. There is so much to do and see in this area alone. Downtown is a half hour walk away from the city centre. Across the street there are several restaurants that serve North American food in case you are craving a taste from home.

I don't think I would go back or recommend this place to many people. The only target audience for this place should be smokers. I had already seen reciews about a cigarette smell in the rooms, however I was hoping this was an isolated incident. Unfortunately, upon my arrival it became pretty evident my room was one of the unlucky cigarette smelling rooms. I did complain with the staff an I was informed they would use an ozone machine to get rid off the smell, but for that I had to leave the room... something not that simple when the hotel does not have a safe and you are traveling with valuables. During my stay I also encountered another guest complaining about the same issue. AC did not seem to work either. The staff on the other hand were polite. It felt like they were trying to work with what they had. The restaurant service was very accommodating and brakfast was simple but covered all the basics.
