Great stay for a long weekend. Good gym and range of classes. Enjoyed the sunrise yoga and the activities organised by Lokoloko next door were fantastic. All the staff at the hotel were amazing, so friendly.

I really really enjoyed my stay. Hotel was clean and quiet and served my needs perfectly. Hotel staff was able to arrange for a rental car for me when I arrived to the hotel. Free parking was very limited but, I was always able to find paid street parking not far from the hotel. So not really a big deal. The hotel staff are superb. A special acknowledgement to Barbara Gomez who is so kind, professional, always had a smile on her face and offered great suggestions for things to do in Madeira during my stay. My only “complaint” which is minor is the temperature of the hot water in my room . I like the option of very hot water when it comes to bathing/showering. The water in my room was barely lukewarm. Outside of this minor issue, I would most certainly would stay at this hotel again.

The staff were lovely and super helpful. Me and my partner used the pool, spa and fitness facilities every day and really enjoyed the sunrise yoga classes. The buffet breakfast was decent. Hiring a car is necessary as there is very little within walking distance of the hotel. But the island is only small, so you can reach most places with a short drive from the hotel.

Parking - not great because of limited spaces available. End up playing musical chairs/cars. Great service from Staff at reception - Duarte Santos and breakfast staff. Commendable! Thank you. Close to airport and amenities. Require own transportation.

It's a 4 star hotel indeed

Positives: - staff is friendly - location is nice and quiet - activities like yoga, diving, hiking trips - landscaped area around the hotel - it's actually two hotels so more facilities - sommelier is amazing. Great wine tasting. - nice to see solar panels and water saving Improvements: - a proper coffee at breakfast - breakfast smoothies always run out - a sewage smell in all the lifts and toilets - no free water offered in the room - beach towels refreshed only for a fee - blue bar only has basic snack food - masseuse at spa doesn't seem to know what they're doing. Also, a 60min massage lasted for 40min. - asked to pay upfront upon check-in - check-in staff should make it clear whether your room is ready for early check in or not. We were led to believe we can check-in 2 hours early but our room wasn't actually ready which we only found out after 20min of paperwork. Not upset about the wait, only about the bad communication and expectation management - last thing you need when you haven't slept all night.
