Hostel was right above the train station. Hot water, clean room. Breakfast prepared. Staff was friendly. I liked it.

A little hard to find but a great budget hostel

Posted 22 Oct 2017 on Hotels
Given that most people go to Aguas Calientes just to visit Machu Picchu, this is the perfect budget hostel to meet those needs. We just stayed one night, and since Aguas Calientes is small I don't think there is anywhere that isn't a short convenient walk to everything you might need. It was clean enough, the bathroom window opened up to the stairwell and the curtains didn't close well. We had a little trouble finding the hostel, FYI it's down one of the streets next to the football (soccer) fields; and trouble finding the check-in which is just kind of in a living room area upstairs. They were friendly and helpful, knowing we had to be up early to get to Machu Picchu they kindly packed us all a breakfast plus snacks in brown bags to take with us in the morning. And they held our bags for us while we were gone for the day.

Just one night before visiting Manchu Picchu

Posted 13 Sep 2017
Pros: The hot shower
Cons: English speaking?
Location: Near the train station
The room is clean. The water in the shower is hot. The staff speaks no English. The breakfast is simply a package of a piece sandwich, a banana, a box of fruit juice and two sweets for you to go. The location is easy to find. The whole town is not big anyway.

Bad experience

They changed our reservation to another accommodation but didn't inform me in advance. The accommodation is far away from the train station and room is not clean.

Clean hostel and friendly staff

Posted 9 May 2017
This town is very expensive, so keep that in mind when booking your hostel/hotel. For the price comparison, this was a very good choice: clean room, hot water, nice breakfast, and like every other hotel in town, close to everything (the town is very small). Let's be honest, you are going to see Machu Picchu, not to try the hotel amenities, all you need is a place to rest your head before and after your long walk, why spend hundreds of dollars just to be in a hotel with some brand or fancy name? If you're allergic to people, or can't walk three more blocks, then for sure you'll need to pay more.

Cheap place if you just want somewhere to sleep

Posted 15 Feb 2017
Cons: The curtain didn't reach all the way across the window, which was a little weird. Also might help to put in a portable dehumidifier.
Location: Walking distance to the train station and a bunch of restaurants and bars.
We stayed in the three bedroom room, the room was a little musty and damp, probably partly because it didn't have any outward facing windows. I was just looking for a place to sleep and not really hang out in, so it suited my purposes. The staff is very friendly and provided us with a bagged breakfast to take up to Manchu Picchu with us.

convenient and clean hotel lacking heaters in room

Posted 14 Jan 2017 on Hotels
There is no front desk but David who lives in one of the rooms helped us to the best of his ability. What we needed he provided. Bring earplugs with you as the party down the street with very loud music lasted each day till 5 a.m. I am partially deaf and I slept like a log. My wife is not deaf and told me all about it. No fault of the hotel just bring ear plugs. It was wet and cold outside and in the room. We asked for a small space heater and David had none to give. Being miserably cold and wet during our stay reminded us to ensure that heaters are provided during cold and rainy times. Other than cold and miserable and the band till 5 a.m. it was great. Bring a change or two of warm clothes long johns preferred, sweaters and then should be ok.

Gostei muito!

O hostel é meio estranho na chegada, porque é uma portinha que você vai entrando mas super recomendo. Foi a melhor cama de toda a minha viagem e a equipe foi bem atenciosa conosco.
