I had the perfect stay at Mara Intrepids. The rooms were charming and the food was delicious. But what really makes the camp special is the people. Everyone was so kind and welcoming and I felt like I was part of a big family even though I was traveling alone. Our guide Ezekiel was magnificent and Lawrence took great care of me in the dining room every day (even charging my phone daily). I can’t wait to return.

Excellent all around except the front desk was challenged with being able to have concise and direct communication on multiple occasions. One or two misunderstanding is acceptable, however, this was a chronic issue. For that reason, I will not return. That is unacceptable at this price point to have chronic and constant misunderstandings.

The camp was great but its the staff that made it what it is, our room attendant Samuel was one of a kind, always had a smile on his face. Asanteni sana

Not really what you pay for
Posted 21 Apr 2023 on HotelsThe camp was very nice and the tent is comfortable. Staff were very attentive, especially after an initial negative experience. Food was good but nothing special. Tea, coffee and chocolate were cheap/instant brands and water is not included (first time for me). The condition of the tent is ok, but for the price i would have expected better. Shower head was dirty (even had a spider web) and the shelves were covered with rust. There was also some dirt around the desk area. My first safari was 40 mins late and they lied about trying to get me another driver. Honestly, this is not the service nor the hotel condition that would expect at this price range.

The hotel and staff were excellent. Except, generator power is cut off at midnight. If I had known this prior to booking, it would be a deal breaker.

This was a truly magical experience. Our driver Michael had a huge amount of knowledge of the Mara and the animals and we saw everything we could have wanted and more! It was wonderful being able to follow the same lions for 3 days and see what they get up to.
All the staff were exceptional at the lodge. Our waiter Ngala was very pleasant and helpful.
I also had an excellent massage at the lodge and it’s highly recommended to help relax between those bumpy game drives.
