Decor depressing, shoddy and could say pretty repulsive.
No phones or information in rooms. Fire alarm went off in night and no way to find if real or accidental, plus our escape route was an immense distance and possibly dangerous. No explanation, no apology, no reassurance. Also dining room shoddy and dull. Artefacts and furniture around hotel in disgraceful decrepit condition. Bathrooms new and fine except for lavatory which was so low down as to be absurdly unpleasant to use. Method of payment dodgy ? Will we get our money back for shortening our stay ?. A shambles.

Beautiful hotel, the room was comfy and had everything we needed. The bathroom and shower was modern and clean. Great location to walk around Ludlow. We didnt eat or drink in the hotel, it seemed expensive compared to the places around.

Quite a quirky period property with its little idiosyncrasies (slopping/undulating bedroom floors).
Ideal for a short stay to explore Ludlow
Adequate parking spaces but slightly shoe horned spaces.
Staff pleasant and helpful the only criticism was the complicated and convoluted way in which they present your final invoice for your stay, but got there in the end.

The smell in my room was so bad, it seemed to be from the shower drain, I did not sleep as a result. I told the desk in the morning and they didn't charge me for my dinner and breakfast, a total of 30 pounds. My room still cost 108 pounds, and they also charged me 70 pounds to hold my credit card but didnt deduct it from the room rate. Also the lift was broken and my room was in the 2nd floor. The tables in the dining room are sticky, either need refinishing or a good clean.

Ancient hotel on 3 floors. Charming, but our stay as handicapped guests was destroyed by unannounced fact the lift didn't work. Had to hand carry 8 bags up a steep, narrow, winding staircase....totally irresponsible of owners. At a minimum owners should warn elderly about conditions.

The mixture of modern and old within this building and the decor has been so well done; bringing both chracter and comfort. There is so much to do within the surrounding area, such as Ludlow Castle, Church, Museum, nature walks and an abundance of shops and nice restaurants and all within walking distance of the hotel. The staff are friendly, helpful and approachable. We will be staying here again! Thank you for a lovelt stay.
