For one night @ CAD$102, this hotel is cheap. Carry change to pay for tax. Expedia advertises that you have to check in at a different location but we did not have to do that as property had front desk. The lobby reeked like cigarette, unsure if coming from outside or the bar/restaurant. Smaller hotel room but modernly renovated. Washroom is very tight as I noticed with all the washrooms in EU. Had blowdryer, free small toiletries - soap & shampoo but no conditioner. Bes and pillows were comfortable enough for someone who has back issues. There was a small desk. Good for 1-2 pax. Within the old lucerne town. Parking is difficult and none onsite - we parked at the nearby Migros and paid CHF60 for 24hr parking

The check in was ok. I asked for a room that is higher like the 6th floor to avoid noise but staff didnt give us one but instead gave us a room on firat floor that has a door that opens to the the other room. we were inside room when all
of a sudden two guys opened the door! We felt unsafe. Theres no curtain that blocks off light nor any overhead light in the room. The bathroom looks modern and clean. The bathroom shower floor is slippery we had to lau a towel on it.The beds were nicely done with separate duvet. They are undergoing construction the staff said so when we checked out. We were given another room after we complained of the door opening to the next room. they do not have A/C. A fan was provided. our room 117-very noisy street level
noises had that opening door but when we asked to be transferred they have us room 119 which was quiet but no blocking curtain. No phones in the room. No charging stations.

I felt that the property reeked of cigarette smoke from the bar downstairs all the way up to our rooms. I wasn’t happy with that.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the main city core, about an 8 minute walk from the train station. There is a bus/tram stop just across and down the street.
The staff were exceptional from our check-in, to assisting with all our inquiries. Unfortunately, there was no refridgerator in our room which would have been very useful, but staff were kind enough to store our perishables in the hotel kitchen refridgerator overnight before our early morning departure.
The hotel provides a free public transportation pass which was so convenient and amazing to have. We just hopped on and off the trams to get a wonderful tour of Lucerne and to get to and from the train station with our bags. We would definitely stay here again!
