Website info needs updating
Posted 17 Mar 2018 on HotelsArrived about 6:15pm on a Sunday evening having booked on-line that afternoon. Receptionist was locking up as we arrived and wasn’t expecting us, despite on-line info saying reception until 10:00pm and restaurant open. Restaurant was closed as we’re bar and spa. We wouldn’t have come so far off our route if we’d known none of the facilities were available. Fortunately able to eat at restaurant nearby.

Good value, relaxing location
Posted 13 Feb 2018
Pros: location, restaurant, breakfast, relaxed atmosphere, easy access to hiking, dog friendly
Cons: Would like to have a coffee maker or water kettle in the room.
Location: Hiking, swimming, paddle boats, outlet shopping (Mettlach, 15 mins away)
No complaints. We had a standard room on the top floor. It's the smallest of the rooms. It was fine for the two of us, we just needed a place to sleep. Bed is firmer than our personal preference (which has been true at every hotel we've stayed at in Germany :) ) but nice pillows and duvets/comforters. If you are a larger person, ask for a room that isn't on the top floor-- bathroom in the 3rd floor standard room is very small , shower opening is narrow, and the ceilings on the lake side of the hotel are sloped (and therefore there is some potential for head banging).
Breakfast was nice--fruits, breads, cereals, cold cuts, cheese, eggs of different sorts, juices etc. We also enjoyed the hotel restaurant for dinner. The first night we were just tired and didn't feel like going out; the second night we chose to return to the restaurant. Pleasant German ambiance, pleasant service, and our food was good (though a bit on the salty side).
Note that if you are arriving late, call ahead to make arrangements to get your key. Reception is said to close at 10pm. We found it closed much earlier, but the server in the bar/restaurant downstairs was handling check-in.
Easy parking in the off-season; the large parking lot adjacent to and across the street from the hotel suggests that it gets crowded in peak season.
We enjoyed a visit to the Cafe Louis in town; good coffee, hot chocolate, cakes.
