this little cottage was far beyond our expectations. Quaint and clean and quiet. Will definitely return to Allenvale.

Truly relaxing
Posted 9 Jun 2018 on HotelsThis was our 2nd time at Allenvale albeit in a different cottage (Riverbank this time) and we just absolutely love love love coming here. The cottages are so comfortable, cosy and well looked after. Excellent location in the beautiful tranquil surrounds of the forest yet only a 5min drive to the centre of Lorne. The cottage has everything you need for a truly relaxing city escape. All the cottages are nicely spaced out with a creek running through the property and lovely bush walks at your doorstep.

Peaceful retreat
Posted 12 Dec 2016 on Wotif
Pros: It is off the beaten track
Cons: Curtain on the front door. The front door is also incredibly hard to lock.
Location: Lots of beautiful bush walks, and waterfalls nearby. But also close enough to the front hustle and bustle of Lorne
Was lovely and peaceful setting to sit back and just enjoy the serenity.

French cottage inspired good basic accommodation.
Posted 2 Nov 2016 on HotelsFar enough away from town but close enough to town (short drive) Quiet and peaceful place to stay away from the busy tourist area , plenty of places to eat , reasonable prices.

Perfect. Absolutly beautiful.
Posted 9 Aug 2016 on WotifWe stayed for 2 nights in the winter months. Our stay was fantastic. From cozying up to the fire, listening to music and relaxing, cooking our own meals with the equipt kitchen, sitting on the verendah listening to the birds and the creek. The place was beautiful. Everything was provided. Right down to the board games. No bad things to stay about this place. Already booking it for the summer.

Bush tranquility
Posted 4 Aug 2016 on HotelsBeautiful tranquil bush surrounds with some lovely bush walks at the front door and a sculpture gallery nearby also. Very cosy cottage with all the essentials. A bit of dust and cobwebs around but overall very clean tidy and no spiders seen. Kero cottage is by the stream and the constant sound was so soothing. Can't really hear the stream inside the cottage though. The abundant supply of firewood made for a fabulous winter weekend escape by the crackling fire. Additional electric heaters and electric blankets were also provided. The hosts were around if needed but not intrusive

Winter break
Posted 16 Jun 2016 on LastminuteTwo very pleasant nights in Kero cottage. Well set up, loads of reading material provided in the cottage, along with a very well set up kitchen. Beds very comfortable, with great bedding. Only small issue was damp fire wood , took some time to get the fire burning well enough, but once it was going well, it made the cottage very cosy on a cold winters day. Great walks nearby. Lovely peaceful spot.

Great in summer maybe ...
Posted 14 Jun 2016 on HotelsWe did have a lovely weekend i Lorne- we stayed in the Rose Cottage. It was clean & tidy with a Well equipped kitchen.
If i can offer some feedback - when i hear cottage, i think 'cosy' & this wasn't. It was a cold weekend, there was a woodfire, which we did manage to keep going; floor rugs would have been perfect on the hard floors. A heater in the bathroom would be a bonus.

rustic retreat yet close to centre of Lorne
Posted 31 May 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Quaint, rustic setting that was very homey.
Cons: Loved it all
Location: About a 10 minute drive from the main area of Lorne. Easy to get to. Quiet setting.
Our family of four were very pleased with the cozy, comfortable cottage in the woods. There was ample space for my husband and two teenage daughters. The fire was welcoming during cool evenings and the kitchen was well equipped to cook family meals. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a reasonable place to stay near Lorne.

Cosy cottage amidst serene greenery
Posted 22 Apr 2016
Location: Lorne is a good place to explore with lookouts, waterfalls and walking tracks in the bush. There are shops and restaurants across from the beach.
We arrived to a beautiful green rainforest with a sprinkling of cottages. A perfect little getaway for people who love nature and feeling almost alone in the world. The Kero cottage itself was lovely, we felt at home as soon as we entered the door.
