Holland House Hotel New Brighton

The advert for this hotel is misleading, it states there is a sitting room there wasn't one. It states breakfast a bowl of cornflakes a bowl of muslia some crumpets bread butter jam on a table is not what I call breakfast. The boiler had broken down and although they put heaters in the room I had to boil a kettle of water to wash my hands and have a shave. Overall I was very disappointed with my stay and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We are extremely sorry that this guest was so disappointed and offer the following pointers for other prospective guests. The guest booked one of our budget rooms which is not advertised as having a lounge. Our apartments however do have their own separate lounge areas and a kitchen - we ask potential guest to please not match our deluxe apartment photos with budget rooms to avoid disappointment. Re breakfast: We provide a continental style breakfast in each room - which consists of cereals, crumpets, bread/toast, jam, marmalade, fruit & yoghurt, fresh milk (each room has its own fridge) and unlimited tea and coffee. Re 'the boiler' yes regrettably on the day of arrival the combi boiler did indeed break down and despite numerous calls to plumbers we were unable to get a repair done in time... the guest had heaters in the bedroom and private vestibule so the accommodation was warm and comfortable and (not mentioned by the guest) there was a hot shower... but alas no hot water from the sink tap. We provided free Netflix, a complimentary bottle of wine and a sincere apology for the inconvenience of our guest having to boil a kettle for a morning shave. Sometimes things do go wrong and when they do, we do make best endeavours to put them right. We are sorry the guest felt it necessary to mention the negatives without pointing out the positives - our efforts to make things better were regrettably rebuffed.
