Bed bugs
Posted 28 Feb 2024 on HotelsAlthough the breakfast and the swimming pool were amazing, the hotel has low cleaniness standars. I was bitten by bed bugs numerous times! We had to wash all clothing after return including skiing coats, etc and steam clean our car and house to avoid transporting the bugs to our house. The cleaner did not bother to clean our room every day. Also, there is no bus shuttle to the skiing slope. We booked this hotel as it advertises to have a shuttle but we ended up walking to the station each day to catch the bus. The hotel is up on a hill so climbing back from skiing meant a 20 minute walk up a steep hill (on icy pavements) or a cab ride at 150 KR.

Hi Daria,We are sorry to hear that the stay did not go as you wished.We will be checking the floor you stayed on to make sure there are no bed bugs. When you are staying for a longer time you will have to hang a note on your door so the cleaners will take care of your room.We understand your frustration, but we do not advertise that we have a shuttle, however we are relatively close to some of the bus stops that will take you to the slopes.We take these matters very seriously and will do our best to make sure this will no longer be an issue.BR

Family friendly but outdated
Posted 4 Dec 2023 on HotelsRoom was very family friendly but the hotel overall was outdated and more mediocre than we expected given the cost. Breakfast spread was great, though!

Once we walked the hill, found a beautiful facility with lovely grounds and history. We were warned about the hill as we were packing luggage. Comfortable room but location only looked over a roof. Appreciated walking the shopping area. Olympic Park and walking along the river Phenomenal!!! We walked at least 5 miles !

The property is beautiful, and the hot tub and sauna are lovely. Easily the cleanest hotel and pool I have ever seen. Very peaceful location, and one can walk into town in 15 minutes.

Large hotel up the hill in Lillehammer. A little dated, but efficiently run. Lots of tour groups on buses & kids on vacation with families. Easy walk to downtown Lillehammer or up the hill to the ski jump.

Horrible Experience!
Posted 5 Jul 2023 on HotelsHorrible! Hot, run down, crammed, tiny rooms. Steam room didn’t work even though we had to pay for a spa pass. Beds were terribly uncomfortable. Layout of hotel was odd, pools and workout room down in basement dungeon. Very disappointed.

The good, location is very good, walking distance to pretty much everything. The property is large but in need of some TLC. Staff was pleasant and breakfast was fantastic.
The not so good, our room was on the 6th floor facing the back garden and the pool. It was a very warm day unfortunately room had no A/C and the window could only open about 4 “ due to limit opener installed. With the daylight or midnight sun coming into the room we had to close the drapes which made the room a bit warmer. Unfortunately, they had some king of a party blasting music so loud past 1 am that it made it impossible to fall asleep. The other issue was a bathroom, which has a silly shower design with no door only a small side glass panel and the drain directly under it. Basically, when shower is in use you have about 1” of standing water in the entire bathroom for 15 min until it drains, after which the floor remains wet for hours… Overall, disappointing stay.
