Being budget is no excuse

Fairly warm welcome at the desk, but things went downhill once we entered our room. Filthy walls that had dried bloodied bogeys/snot on next to the bed that was so visible there is no excuse for not cleaning! The 2 single beds were dirty and mine had what looked like sick down one side which again was obvious enough to not be missed by cleaners! On our travels through France, Andorra, Spain, Portugal & Italy of staying in multiple budget hotels this has been the worst room we have stayed in purely down to lack of cleanliness & tiredness of the room decor.

OK hotel

Hotel is quite a way from town among several big shopping areas. This was a nightmare on a dark November evening but would be OK in Summer. Wifi was fast before other guests arrived but completely failed mid evening. Staff friendly, shower room separated which was good.

Near train station

I acccidentally booked the wrong Ibis but went to the one I wanted. The staff called the other Ibis and I thought all was okay. In the morning, I was charged the full price although I had already paid Expedia for the lower priced hotel. I was told the only way I could get my money back was to give them my banking information. I wasn't comfortable doing that but did give it in the end. I would have preferred they refunded the money to my credit card or to my Expedia account but they said that was not possible. It will be interesting to see if the money does go to my bank account.
