We found this hotel in a Rick Steves travel guide for Switzerland. His description is accurate. Awesome location near the train station. The upper floor rooms do have a view of the lake. The front desk staff was pleasant and friendly. The rooms are a decent size. We had two family rooms. The decorating is not up to date and the appliances like the hair dryer are also dated (no big deal, every thing was functional). Breakfast is fairly basic and the attendant does not ask for your drink order or stop at your table, so you must get their attention. Unless you have an early train, you might want to get breakfast elsewhere. Perhaps we have just been spoiled by the breakfasts at multiple Italian hotels (large variety and attentive hosts).

Pleasant stay in Lausanne
Posted 23 Dec 2023 on HotelsWe stayed here on our visit to see the Christmas Markets. This hotel is on a quiet side street and convenient to the train station and main downtown area. We walked from the train station. We were on the third floor and there was an elevator. We had a room with a balcony and beautiful view of the distant mountains and lake.

The hotel is very close to the train station...albeit up a VERY steep hill (which i did dragging a 50lb suitcase in the rain - not the best first impression of Lausanne). The hotel is pleasant; the staff are very nice. The decor is a little dated - how old were those rugs anyway? - tho i enjoyed the large bathtub after squeezing into tiny showers at the other hotels. I said a little prayer each time i hot into the miniscule &elderly elevator. The bkfast was basic, the coffee was excellent

Hidden gem in Lausanne!
Posted 17 Oct 2023 on HotelsWe were thrilled with our stay at Hotel Elite. It is about a 10 minute (uphill) walk from the train station and located on a quiet side street. They kindly stored our luggage until check in and provided us with a city card for Lausanne. It is conveniently located at a roughly 20 minute walk to the beautiful lakefront area of the city. When we arrived in our room we were thrilled to have a lovely balcony where we could enjoy the sunset. We had two comfortable twin beds, a seating area on the balcony, and a spacious room and bathroom. There was not AC (we knew this ahead of time) but there was a fan which kept us cool overnight. The wifi reception was great as well. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Good location close to the train if you have carryon luggage. Cute, quaint and as we were on the 4th floor, had a beautiful view of the mountains and lake. Sitting area where one can read is nice to have. Provided a USB adapter so we could charge our phones so that was great also. Larger room than many in Europe!
