Beautifully Peaceful Spot in France

Posted 18 Jul 2023 on Hotels
A wonderful remote setting in a beautiful building. The small village itself has a couple of restaurants and ice cream shops for a nice slow stroll. The hotel had incredibly friendly and helpful staff who were always willing to help. Especially when my limited French ran out and we were able to switch to English too. The room was very warm with no air conditioning. I would recommend mosquito spray if going in the summer months as they were quite prevalent in the area. Unfortunately there were some issues with cleanliness. We opened the window of our apartment to have dead spiders and maggots fall onto our floor which we cleaned ourselves. The room was also quite dusty overall. Overall however, if you are looking for a quiet rustic hotel in the French countryside, this hotel would be a good option. Particularly for the staff's friendliness.

Beautiful country hotel

Lovely hotel in a very picturesque part of the French countryside. Very quiet and peaceful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Loved the hotel SPA with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Only downside for me was the food and the slow restaurant service.

Our stay I'm Larressingle was wonderful! We only wish we could have stayed longer. Having a castle across the road was an added surprise. We will return again to explore this region on our next trip to France. Thank you!

French countryside

Pros: The bed and bed linens were very nice. The room was new, very quiet, with pleasant views.
Cons: Attitude of the staff, better food.
Location: good location for outdoor activities
Breakfast is a separate charge and although there were numerous items the croissants were over cooked and hard. A single cup of coffee is served and when the jam runs out--forget getting any more. Dinner at the restaurant was no better than average, and not what would be expected in one of the top food regions in France. The foie gras appetizer was very nice, but the goat cheese salad was short on goat cheese and salad There is terrace dining and a view of a castle ruin.

One of only hotels in village.historic small fortified hamlet. Property converted old farm and barn. Basic but ok accom . Rooms are basic , not at all 'old or rustic ' as initial view of farm may give expectation . Restaurant good, and if good weather outside dining. Good value , and pleasant country stay for one night
