WARNING TO THOSE LOOKING AT THIS PROPERTY. The description does NOT match the actual hotel. in the description it says it is a minute walk from the sinking bell tower....well it is about 5 miles outside the city. in the middle of nowhere. it says 15 minutes drive from Kapurpurawan? it is about 2 hours drive away. No restaurants closely. . Its a trap. totally. Bookings are non refundable.. Expedia needs to remove this property on the list. .

Please accept our apologies for your not so good impression about Rio Grande Resort. But first, may we ask if where did you read this description of our Resort particularly on the distances of these tourist destinations you mentioned? Because Rio Grande Resort is located in Laoag City while "kapur purawan" is located in Burgos which is 2 municipalities away from Laoag City. The Laoag sand dunes or the La Paz sand dunes is a destination very accessible and near the resort. As to the Sinking bell tower its a few minutes ride away from Rio Grande Resort. You can check in the google map how far away is Rio Grande Resort in these tourist destinations. Again we are very sorry to your inconvenience.

It is a quiet resort with no permanent reception office. Looks like a deserted place with just person assisting are gardeners and maintainance persons (total of 2) to check you in and out. They are kind people. No wifi in room. You have to walk outside towards the pool to get signal and reception. TV not working. Moulding of bathroom fell off from ceiling. Property grounds green with grass.

Treated us as if we were an inconvenience. No restaurants close. Bad view of river. Pool dirty. Top pool used as a tilapia farm. Internet only worked outside the owners room. Dark and a-lot of tripping hazards. After traveling far, tired and needed a shower, hot water heater didn’t work. Toilet backed up. We asked for another room. Attendant said wait till tomorrow. Asked to have a refund, attendant said call expedia. Would have left anyway, but most places were sold out. Don't stay here. Horrible place. They should be removed from Expedia platform.

Happy holidays Mr. James and family. Firstly, in behalf of the management of Rio Grande de laoag Resort we would like to thank you for choosing Rio Grande as your place of stay in your visit to Laoag City. Secondly, our apologies in your inconvenience and dissatisfaction with us and the resort as a whole. May I humbly justify and explain our side Sir on the concerns you had with us.1. Treated us as if we were an inconvenience. It is always our policy to let our guests feel at home. we did not have any intention at all to make you feel uncomfortable. Our staff tried their best to go out of their way to assist you and your family all the requests and needs you had.2. No restaurants close. There were restaurants downtown about 15 minutes away from Rio Grande Resort. We knew they were accessible and they are very easy to find through google map or waze3. Bad view of river. Rio Grande Resort is blessed to have a full view of Laoag river. We tried to maintain its natural beauty and view by not touching its sorroundings nor not putting any structures along the river banks.4. Pool dirty. Pool was clean but only with some few pieces of leaves that came from its near by trees. But as far as the water it is clean and safe to swim. The son of the owner of the resort who is a medical doctor got to swim during your stay in the resort.5.Top pool used as a tilapia farm. This area is for private use only, we do not understand why the guest got to enter this area. It was not part of the resort, there was a big serpent shaped pool for use of hotel guests, This private pool mentioned converted into a fish pond was a private area of the resort. and is exclusively for private sight/area.6, Internet only worked outside the owners room.We are very sorry the location of Rio Grande is a dead spot for globe and smart wherein, wifi signal is at its lowest 7. Dark and a-lot of tripping hazards.Lights in the resort are not switch on 24 hours. This is due to the circular of Laoag City to conserve energy. 8. After traveling far, tired and needed a shower, hot water heater didn’t work. Our apologies for this concern, this is due to the very strong pressure of our water line where our shower heads connections are lossen, however, guests were transfered to another room 9. Toilet backed up. According to our maintenance staff upon checking this happened because toilet paper were used and put inside the toilet bowl, but then again we did transferred the guest to the next room.10. We asked for another room. Attendant said wait till tomorrow. This was true because one member said to the attendant that they can transfer or change room the next day since it was late in the evening and the mother of the guest said so that they be transferred to another room the next day which we did. 11. Asked to have a refund, attendant said call expedia. This was very true since the attendant did not receive a single peso from the guest. Payment was made to Expedia, henc

Thank you for your kind review. With regards to the TV issue, in our facilities and amenities in our site we have not included TV set because we have no cable access. The location of Rio Grande unfortunately is in a dead spot. And for the other concern we will make sure that we will do something about it. Once again thank you for staying with us in Rio Grande Resort. Have a pleasant visit in Ilocos.
