When we saw the room we cancelled our booking. We were warned not to open the window as it had already fallen out and landed on passers by. The common area were dreary and run down as was the room.

Great family hotel on Bassin d'Arcachon

Posted 7 Aug 2016 on Hotels
I stayed at L'Oceana with my 2 children and we had two separate bedrooms. The hotel is simple but charming and friendly. Although in a quiet area, It's walking distance to the Bassin and a number of shops including a bakery and news kiosk. It has a restaurant which we did not have time to try. Also a nice garden

Nice rate, welcome, and location (loved dinner at nearby Moules & Co.). It was a hot July day and night, so we really missed A/C!

Trip to the Bassin d'Arcachon

Posted 29 Oct 2014 on Hotels
This was our second stay at this hotel and we were very happy with our overnight. The only hick is that the hotel is not at Lanton but at Taussat, the next village along. All the staff are helpful and friendly and there is information about things to do in the area. Much to be recommended is a boat trip round the Ile aux Oiseaux. We had diner at the hotel and food and service was good.

No air con. Not even a fan. Not just in the bedrooms but anywhere in hotel making the nights sleep nearly impossible. The food in the restaurant was lovely. Be warned that as you can't shut your windows due to lack of air con/fan then you could possibly get woken by the bin men at 4.30am as we were.the rooms are very very basic which is fine for one night but we thought it was a bit over priced. The bathroom has clearly been updated but the rooms not. We stayed Aug 2014

Nice Hotel in a quiet spot

Posted 12 Aug 2014
Pros: Location and friendly service
Cons: Rooms quite basic
We stayed here for a couple of days to explore the Arcachon Basin and found it to be really welcoming and convenient. The public areas were lovely with a great courtyared garden and restaurant. We ate here the first night and the food was very nice. The staff were all lovely and the service great. The room was pretty basic but it was a good size - we were there with our son and had a family room with two separate bedrooms and a small seating area/hallway. The hotel is in Taussot not Lanton and we had a bit of trouble finding it but we were really happy with the location and had some lovely walks on the beach which is very close. There are a few shops nearby but no restaurants in the immediate vicinity. A short walk takes you to a great restaurant overlooking the water though.

Friendly hotel.

The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a nice garden with several seating areas. There was a good choice of food at breakfast and the evening meal was excellent. We had a problem with wifi which turned out to be from the provider but the manager was on to it immediately. The hotel is well situated for visiting the Baie d'Arcachon and the bird reserve at Le Teich. The one way system can cause problems finding the hotel. We had a good experience and will return.

Good Hotel would visit again

Posted 30 Apr 2014
Cons: Coffee/tea facilties in the room.
This is a good hotel with friendly staff. The rooms were clean tidy and well apointed. The only critisism is that it would have been nice to have tae/coffee facilities in the room, especially as the restraunt was closed (Sunday evening) Maybe this will change when the full summer season starts. The hotel is conveniently positioned close to the bay, its in a relatively quiet location with post office and small shops close by. I have no problem to recommend this hotel and would visit again.
