Too short a stay
Posted 3 Mar 2024 on HotelsWe thought it was excellent, service was good from the moment we walked through the door, staff were polite and courteous and the food was excellent. We had a room with a canal view which was absolutely delightful, we were lucky enough to see an owl in the morning scouring the field for breakfast.

Nice place
Posted 29 Jan 2024 on HotelsThe rooms were lovely and the location is beautiful, next to a canal lock with ducks and swans, surrounded by grasslands. Very quiet. Decor throughout is very nice, comfortable, stylish and fairly luxurious.
We had a twin room which actually contained a double and 2 single beds. My daughter complained the single bed was v narrow, which it was, but we pushed the two together and she was very happy with that. Two others in our party had a twin room with normal-sized single beds. Everyone had a good night's sleep.
It's always annoying when there's nowhere to charge your phone near the bed, but that's a minor niggle! I had a bath and couldn't get the water quite as warm as i wanted it to be.
Breakfast was nice enough but not spectacular. The coffee wasn't wonderful and the buffet was limited, but the cooked vegetarian English was generous and pleasant and kept me full up most of the day, as hoped! The staff looked after us well and made sure we had enough toast :)
