The setting is beautiful! Aldeia de Fonte Hotel is in a very lush and green part of the island, as well as near the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing on the rocks from your room. The outdoor dining area is so pretty. You feel like you are in a rainforest.

The grounds at this hotel are amazing! They are beautifully landscaped and the rooms are in small buildings around the property. You can walk to cliffs and there is a small balcony overlooking the ocean.
The food at the restaurant is excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were there during off-season and there was not always someone at the property but you could call.
My reason for a lower rating is the mattresses. They are probably futon mattresses and they are very thin and hard. After two nights my joints hurt.

Easy to find and drive to, for a first-time visitor to the island. Superb location next to the garden & to shopping.

Beautiful and unique hotel
Posted 2 Nov 2021 on HotelsBeautiful spot, very unique setting. Suite was very clean. The location is a distance from Madalena, so was a 30-45 minute drive to the ferry for Faial and some restaurants we wanted to visit. We stayed in October so there were not as many flowers and the pool wasn't as clean as expected, but the sunsets and waves were amazing, and I would guess a visit in the summer would be amazing.
