Reasonable hotel
Posted 10 Jan 2022 on HotelsHotel was very responsive and helpful both pre and during stay. Room was very basic but had what you needed. Breakfast not great, was not confident that a lot of it was fresh and the normal bread was too stale to eat everyday. Overall, was comfortable and very acceptable. Would use it again

Staying in Kauppahotelli Grand
Posted 31 Aug 2021 on HotelsVery good service, friendly staff in the kitchen, excellent breakfast. Good location in the centre of Lahti with on site parking. Good value for money overall. Comfortable beds. Interior looked a bit outdated though.

Rather old-fashioned hotel poor value for money

Pros: The breakfast buffet was quite good.
Cons: Bar or lounge area available later in the evening. Better ventilation in the rooms.
Location: In the centre of the city of Lahti which was convenient, though no free parking during the day.
Thankfully we checked-in around midday before going out with relatives because reception closes about 7 pm and the front door is locked. When we returned at around 9 pm, there was no bar or anywhere to sit comfortably with friends. The room was quite small and adequate for one night but the weather was very hot and the ventilation limited. It cost us more than a very nice hotel in the centre of Helsinki, so we felt is was poor value for money.
