Worst hotel I have stayed
Posted 22 Oct 2016Rooms are big & nice , but the facilities are the worst , restaurant takes more than 90mins for any order you place ... for sure I am not going again to this hotel

Marked improvement
Posted 11 May 2014 on HotelsThe hotel has generally upgraded its facilities since my last stay in 2013. The rooms are great and the meals are very good. The staff are much more courteous. A great place to stay on Lagos Mainland

Good hotel close to the airport
Posted 11 May 2014
Pros: Location close to the airport and averagely good standards.
Cons: Could do with a little bit more attention to detail for a four star hotel
Location: Just one night stay but really lose to the airport. Not walking distance but on that Sunday it took less that five minutes in a taxi.
Booked a room for two and wasn't given two keys. Complimentary water in the room was only one bottle when the room was booked for two. No trash bin in the bath room. No hot water in that particular room. And by the way, it was an executive room!

Impressive
Posted 18 Mar 2014 on HotelsPlanet One impressed me because it doesn't try to be like the identikit Sheratons or Eko Hotels. The decor gave it the feel of a boutique hotel although the rooms and en suite bathrooms were massive. The bellboys are extremely good although I did have to carry my bag to the reception desk when I came in. Breakfast was nice, I ordered a fry up which was excellent although having to pay for water was bizarre given that juice was free. The location is perfect - it's not too far from the airport, it's ideal for the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and in terms of safety there's a police command and army Cantonment just up the road. Planet One unfortunately falls down on several aspects - firstly the bathrooms - the bath floors and jacuzzi tubs need to be sparkling clean if they wish to compete with a proper 5 star hotel, some of the metal in the sinks etc are a little rusty. The a/c could be colder and the wooden floors could do with a polish BUT all in all if you've ever stayed in a hotel in Lagos you'll realise these are all minor issues. I'd strongly recommend Planet One to any one coming to Lagos

Nice and friendly staff
Posted 25 Feb 2014 on HotelsVery nice hotel, convenient location and friendly staff. Would have given it a solid 4 rating but for the lack of attention to details. Room can be cleaner and definitely coffee service will do with a full complement of all you need to make coffee - only had cups, coffee and brown sugar. No creamer and no spoon. However felt safe and no major disappointment.

24/7 electricity equals sound sleep
Posted 20 Feb 2014 on HotelsStayed in room 134 for 27 days in January 2014 with average room rate of less than $200 per night. Though a visiting Nigerian, I wanted the peace and quiet you get from not staying with friends and family. Hotel room was neat and was cleaned daily though I sometimes used the do-not-disturb card to keep hotel staff out of my room (you have to ask for the card). The hotel staff was totally professional, friendly, and respectful ---the cleaning crew, front desk, maintenance, kitchen staff, door men, and the gate men. This was a welcome relief from airport customs officials who shamelessly solicit and harass you for money.
We slept with ear plugs the first couple of nights due to room's noisy airconditioner which was fixed once staff was notified. You wonder why that was not discovered prior. The lobby was great and welcoming. Dinning room was kept clean. However, the complimentary breakfast buffet (for one person only!!) was boring. The pool, event hall, spa, etc were undergoing renovations. Extremely dissappointed I couldn't excercise throughout my stay, a major reason for booking the hotel. The odor in the gym was unbearable the first time I went in and I promptly left. I was given some flimsy excuse. It was way better the next time but not enough to check it out a third time. I will definitely stay at the hotel again because I know their management takes your opinion very seriously and eager to make changes. We just have to keep letting them know for them to truely earn that four star rating.

Felt safe and secure in this hotel
Posted 17 Feb 2014
Pros: The room, security, Spanish omelette, friendly staff, the Nigerian movie channel
Cons: Watch the breakfast bread. Check that kettles work as the one in my room could not boil water for tea
The security at the gate entrance gave me confidence. The staff were excellent and my room was value for money. Everybody was professional and had good customer care. My only criticism is to do with the slice of bread at breakfast which tasted moldy. I will definitely stay in this hotel if the opportunity arises.

Surprised
Posted 16 Feb 2014 on HotelsHotel is clean and the staff are very helpful. The food in the restaurant is good . With a wide selection. The Bamboo Bar is a great spot for a beer after a long day in Lagos. Price wise very reasonable and I will stay here again on returning to Lagos. Rooms are well kitted and a good size.

Bathroom could have been better maintained. The jacuzzi tub did not work and the shower had some broken tiles. The rest of the room was very pretty and the bed was very comfortable.
