The common areas on the property are very cute and welcoming. The room is also very cute, but I did leave the property with bug bites and I read that there may have been bedbug situations that people have experienced in the past. I can’t confirm that that’s where the bites came from but I did get them only after sleeping through the night. The location of the property felt pretty unsafe and dirty.

Dear Michele,we are sorry to hear you did not fully enjoy your stay at our hotel. As you might have read on the news, last summer bed bugs spread all over Europe and you are right, unfortunately we found some in our hotel as well. Please do not believe who owns an hotel and says they have never heard of it, as it happens to everybody once in a lifetime. Since then we took the situation of bed bugs very seriously and we do regular and thorough checks. I can assure you that at the moment there are no cases of bedbugs in our facility (included in your previous room). I just wished you informed us before leaving, like this we could have checked on the spot and provided any medical assistance in case you need it.Regarding the surroundings of the hotel, please keep in mind that La Spezia is a vibrant multiethnic city. Most of all during summer. We apologies if you did not feel safe at any point, but the criminal rate of the city is very low compared to the one of other major cities. Of course at night we always suggest to walk around the city center where most of the bars and restaurants are and not along remote neighborhoods, that is why we always provide city maps and directions at the Reception Desk. Our staff is available 24/7 exactly for things like this. We hope our Guests feel free to ask for advice should they have any doubt or concern.Please do not hesitate to contact us personally, should you have any more points you would like to discuss.We hope to see you again in the future and have the possibility to change your mind.Best regards,

Ants on the floor close to the balcony probably coming from outside. Otherwise, hotel is clean and beautiful
