Posted 14 Jan 2020 on HotelsNous avons été déçu par la vétusté de la chambre et l'odeur de moisissure. On trouve ce niveau de confort dans d'autres pays, pour beaucoup moins cher. Inadapté pur des bébés (pas de lit de bébé et pas de tuyau de douche). La climatisation n'était pas nettoyée et nous n'avons pas pu l’utiliser malgré le passage du technicien qui n'a fait qu'asperger avec un produit extrêmement fort. La responsable a fait ce qu'elle pouvait et nous a offert un repas dans le restaurant Le Chateau St Cloud (à 200m) avec qui il y a des accords. Pour info, c’est un beau resto avec piscine et le personnel est très sympathique et tarif correct (en passant par la Bernique Guest House) par rapport à d'autres endroits.
Les petits-déjeuners à la Bernique sont bons et variés avec des gâteaux et confitures fait maison mais pas sous forme de buffet, dommage (quantité déterminées à l'avance).
Accueil avec un jus de fruits, bien agréable mais aucune information sur ce que l'on peut faire sur l'île et pas de chance l'office du tourisme était fermé pendant une semaine !

The room was large and comfortable. The staff was friendly. There was a lot of noise from the neighbour's air conditioning unit which was very loud and not working properly - it prevented us from sleeping during the first night. Another negative aspect was lack of WIFI at the Bernique Guest house.
We enjoyed discounted meals at the neighbouring hotel Chateau, by using the meal vouchers offered by Bernique.

Best breakfast from a hotel that I've ever had!

Pros: Rooms were cleaned every day and their gorgeous fresh and locally sourced breakfasts.
Cons: WiFi access whether for free or for extra in the cost of each room.
Location: The location of Bernique Guest House is still quite accessible from the ferry jetty on La Digue. Bernique Guest House is on the road called La Passe.
Sylvania and Beryl who both run Bernique Guest House gave me a warm welcome and a lot of gracious hospitality and assistance. The rooms are cleaned every day, are basic and have no wifi access at the moment. There are no safes provided inside the rooms at Bernique Guest House but there is a safe on the premises and Sylvania kept my valuables in there very safely so Bernique Guest House was very trustworthy.
But the best thing about Bernique Guest House is their breakfasts. They serve up such beautiful, fresh and locally sourced food every morning for their guests between 8 AM to 9 AM. The fruit plate changes every morning and the flavours of Sylvania's homemade fruit jams and preserves change every morning. Each morning Sylvania will offer something different such as Belgian waffles, banana bread, crepes, etc. along with fresh homemade tropical juices. She may offer a choice of a fried egg or an omelette. Even the coffee at Bernique Guest House tastes absolutely beautiful and so smooth.
I loved it there and will miss it all ESPECIALLY their fantastically made breakfasts *sigh*

The staff was very nice and the location was pretty great. Everything was easily accessible. The breakfast was very very great.
