Good food, drinks are pricey. Hotel is quite dated and needs a major overhall to keep up with the Hoshino standard.

Cons: Ask expedia to put your email to contact you directly, because mostly travelers dont have a japanese cell phone =)
It´s a pleasant place to to enjoy the view, a romantic hotel (also if u go with family) its great that they have a shuttle that go for you, contact for their hours and locations at least one day before. Excellent french cuisine.

Great hotel for a romantic weekend away

Posted 28 Apr 2015
Pros: Beautiful elegant style , great romantic location
Location: On the mountain itself there is not much to do but once you get the shuttle down to kyoto there is plenty to see.
This is beautiful French provincial style hotel on the Mountain top . The staff are exceptionally helpful and the rooms are beautifully presented. You will have some great views from your hotel and the mountain itself. Keep in mind you will need to reach the Hotel via either hotel shuttle bus ( You need to call the hotel in advance and book , also confirm which station they will pick you up from ) If you do not use the shuttle bus it will cost between 30000 Yen to 50000 Yen depending on which station you get the taxi from. Very bad hotel

Posted 26 Apr 2015 on Hotels
Not worth the money. Very limited services, English speaking staff, and shuttle runs. I spent over $100 in 1/2 day on taxi services because the shuttle has limited runs to Kyoto. I cannot believe this hotel is charging these rates for what they have to offer. The views are enjoyable going up the mountain, but once you get there, not much else to do. No bar or food services. We stayed one night and moved to the Century Hotel (much better stay) near the Kyoto Station.

Amazing beautiful hotel

Posted 8 Apr 2013
Pros: The staff, the food and the views.
Location: Gorgeous views, not too far from the city.
You get the best of Kyoto with this hotel. Located at the top of Mount Hiei, you get amazing views, while being close enough to the city. They offer several shuttles from and to the hotel making it easy for you to spend the day in the city. The staff was amazing!!! Extremely polite and courteous. They went out of their way to assist us, and make sure we were happy. The food was incredible good too. They offer a five or six course french style dinner that was not only beautifully presented, but delicious. The breakfast was very good as well, and included fresh pastries and croissants.
