Akan is an awesome place, and Hanayuuka hotel is a perfect place to stay in it. The lake is literally less than a minute walk from the terrace doors, and so is the cruise ship and motor boat places. The entrance to Kamuy Lumina (a fantastic night show about an ainu legend in the forest) is also very close.
There are many dining places and convenience stores nearby, the tourist office is 5 minutes of walk, and the Ainu Village is around 10 minutes of walk.
Our rooms very surprisingly big, of course very clean. The place has a playing room for children, laundry room, massage chairs, bike rentals, studio quality photo room, and even a tiny photo museum.
I honestly loved our stay here, and want to come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful. The morning breakfast a must. The evening dining at Bar De Pan in the hotel was very accommodating and delicious. My wife loved the hot spa and message chairs. The town is magical. The Ainu village and shows were fascinating and the people very kind. The Kamuy Lumina (Enchanted Night Walk at Lake Akan) is a must. We took the shuttle from Sapporo and back to Chitose. This was also effortless and a great way to see the countryside. Thank you

Nice layout & look & feel of the hotel, friendly & helpful staff, great dinner (the beef was excellent) & great breakfast as well - very goid spread of food, wonderfully central location.

Staff very helpful. Very pleased with the service. No laundry service and also no coin vending washing machines. Got to take shuttle bus to Tsuruga Wings (Sister Hotel) to use coin laundry machine (also do not have laundry service at Tsuruga Wings)

Very friendly and helpful valet staff. Room had beautiful view of the lake. Loved that we had access to onsen at 2 hotels!!
