Comfort with free road side parking.

Posted 10 Aug 2018
Recommend tourists who drive with a car. Take only 10-15 mins drive from the kurashiki city area. Compared with hotels in the city area, price is more affordable. Basic, clean and comfortable.

Highway Inn on the road to Kurashiki, eventually

Posted 10 May 2015
Pros: Room was clean & smoke free. AC worked. Bathroom was maybe 3'x6' instead of 3'x4'. Desk clerk was pleasant.
Cons: This is a roadway inn for drivers who might detour up to Kurashiki. It should be called "Chisun-Kurashiki region" not "Kurashiki".
Location: Pachinko Palace, smoky "Joyful" restaurant, used car dealership, sewer treatment plant, and traditional houses with gardens line Highway 430.
This particular Chisun felt pretty low-end, on par with a Motel 6, except half the size and with a hard bed. It took 45 minutes to get there from Kurashiki Station, via local train to the end of the line and then a taxi (880 yen) down highway 430 for about a mile. The area is very dark at night with drainage ditches along the side of the road, so don't risk walking from the station after dusk. Breakfast looked very unappealing in the morning, so we skipped it and walked back to the station in the daylight, which took about a 25 minutes along the semi-industrial highway. Tourists are advised that a better option may be to ride the train into Okayama, which takes just 16 minutes from Kurashiki Station and has a much larger selection of lodging in the same pricepoint.

Good if you have a car.

A nice clean hotel and a good place to stay if you have a car (which is why we stayed here). Otherwise it is quite a distance to Kurashiki.

Convenience to access travel area

Posted 2 Aug 2014
Pros: Clean, good facilities
Cons: Fee wifi
Location: A lot of local food
Quite, clean and good services. With this hotel, we stay as family with 15 years old child that room provided 3 bed. Easily to access and parking services. We rent a car and most Chisun Inn provide free parking services.

Nice hotel - too far away from main centre of town

Posted 15 May 2014
Pros: Comfortable rooms.
Cons: Staff to learn a bit more English
Location: Too far away from main part of Kurashiki. Located in an industrial area so not much to see or do.
This is a very nice hotel – has comfortable rooms (firm bed, little refrigerator, toiletries, area to heat water for tea, shower and Japanese-style bath), the staff are very polite but it’s in a very inconvenient location unless you own a car. The hotel is 50 minutes from Kurashiki train station – a local train (can’t use JR pass) takes 25 minutes to get to the closest train station from which it’s a 25 minute walk to the hotel. The hotel is in the industrial part of Kurashiki and the staff don’t speak English. The interesting part of Kurashiki is situated around Kurashiki train station so you need to return to the area for sight-seeing.

Clean and Modern Hotel

Posted 4 Apr 2013
Pros: New, clean, and comfortable.
Location: Not picturesque: industrial/commercial, with strip malls.
When we first arrived at the hotel, we were a little disappointed with the setting: industrial and strip malls. However, the hotel is new, clean, and well-maintained. We arrived an hour early for check-in with exhausted children and a cranky infant, but the staff was accommodating and helpful. Of the four hotels we stayed in during our road trip through western Honshu, this was our favorite.

Nice hotel that's far from the centre

Posted 9 Aug 2012 on Hotels
This is a typical, quality business hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice and helpful. The issue I have with the hotel is the distance from the centre of town. It's quite far away. If you're looking for something close to the Kurashiki train station (or central Kurashiki in general), this is not the hotel for you.
