This is a property where you have to dig a bit to find out that check-in ends at 8pm. I did think to call and confirm we were going to check-in late, but there was no obvious indication that this was necessary (I was just thinking it was advisable, not necessary) & I never had the time during the day. When we showed up at 10pm, we couldn't even get into the area (there were bollards blocking cars & a key coder to let people in & of course we had no key code). We parked outside & walked in - the hotel was locked & no one answered the phone. They never contacted us in any way to let us know we were pushing up against their check-in deadline. So fortunately there was another reasonably-priced hotel nearby with a 24-hr reception desk. I blame Expedia as well - we just asked for a hotel near the airport & we got this boutique hotel in the old part of Kranj - we just wanted a budget hotel to crash before our flight in the morning.

Dear naomi this situation that you discribe is not quite correct at all , -first when you made a reservation you recive an emial with all the info you need to know about check - in and parking and etc. you got that message at expedia chat center ( but did you read it ? ) -and we also try to contact you by phone/calling you but unffortunetly unllucky (we allways try to call a guest if they dont arrive untill check in time ), -because we thouth you are unable to have phone service or some other trouble on the way to our place. We send you an email also on expidia chat with the informations for the late check in wich includes code to enter the hostel information where is your room and etc . so unfortunetly we dont know where or what happend or went wrong that you didn see /recive the email we have it in the chat sectionm mail was send . ansering the phone at that time is not posible for us we are small familly hostel and we cant affor to have a reception working 24/7 , as we working every day from 8:00- 20:00 so waiting for guests its not on option for us not knowing or they will arrive or not we have hostel for 14 year and we operate like this for all tthat period of time so sistem actualy wokrs and we can say that cases like yours are only few to noneall we want to say here is that we did what we could or what is in our best but unfortunetly in your case didnt wokr out well regardsBorut

The staff is very friendly, the room was perfect, rates are competitive, and you’re right in the heart of Kranj. Easy walking to many places to eat and drink, and plenty of sight seeing, hiking, and other opportunities. Great place, hidden gem.

Enjoyed my stay. There was a bridge that made it difficult to get to the location but other than that it was right in the center of everything making it easy to walk around, find food, and activities

We did not have a great stay. It was a very far walk from the station as the main bridge to the hostel was closed but was not told about this. No signage for any public transport or taxi. When we got to the hostel the staff were alright but a bit offish. The shower was broken and you had to hold it up, and someone tried to break the door down as I was showering. I felt very unsafe in this hostel as a woman. When we left we got a taxi recommendation from the staff, waited 45 minutes for one to turn up and got charged an extortionate amount just to get the bus stop. The room was very warm so wouldn’t recommend staying in the summer, the curtain was see through and directly opposite someone’s window. We’ve stayed in other hostels in Slovenia that were much better.

My room was beautiful and very clean. The staff was very helpful. The area around the hotel was fun (there was a music festival going on while I was there). This hotel is close to the airport, and a perfect place to stay if you don't was to travel far after a long flight.
This place was a delight to stay in!

A hidden gem

The private rooms are tastefully decorated, it is super clean and very quiet.
They went out of their way to provide us with a faster internet connection and offered a work location.
This is a place full of positive energy and good vibes, due to the entrepreneurial owners, who make it all happen
