Just a place to stay

To start out, the place was okay, but do not stay here if your allergic to cats. (There is a cat that lives inside). The host was not nice. First night we stayed of three nights total, we went down to breakfast to eat and did not know the host would go into the room. If i would of known that she was going to go into the room, i would of cleaned up our suitcases and clothes. We walked into her cleaning up and she started to raise her voice and get angry with us about the mess. She raised her voice at me in front of my daughter and said “This is ridiculous”. I tried to explain to her if i knew she was going to come into the room, i would of cleaned and that i would clean up. She interrupted me and stated “Yes, you will!”. She had a tub that my 9 year old was in and used of the towels as a pillow, it fell in the tub and was soaked. I rang it out and hung it to dry. The host yelled at us for wrecking her room and when i tried to explain to her what happened, she interrupted and yelled “Yeah, WHATEVER!” After that first morning, all we wanted to do is leave. The next morning breakfast was less, and the next even less laid out. Every time my daughter and i walked into the house we felt so unwelcome. Besides our personal/situational experience, the house itself is so loud. Our room was on the third floor. We had someone stay next to us and we heard every footstep, word, and breath(snoring). We did not sleep well. Giving an overall score of 2 because it was just a place to stay.

Dear guest,we are certified as a sustainable host.Our breakfast offering is extensive. Some guests load a lot onto their plates and tear open the packaging, but then don't eat it. The food must be thrown away. This is definitely not sustainable.The next days I only served what you had actually eaten and asked you every day what else you wanted me to bring you. You never wanted anything but still left something on the plates.You and your daughter were the only guests in the house, over the next few days – thats what I thought. But I was wrong.A soldier spent the night(s) in your room. He sneaked out of the house early in the morning, but the boot dirt led all the way down the stairwell straight to your room.Guests who do not want room service hang the sign on the door. There was none. I was shocked: there was also a lot of boot dirt on the carpet and I had a lot of trouble vacuuming it away between all your things and the leftover fast food on the carpet.There is a comfortable bath pillow in the bathroom - unused. And I'm supposed to believe your daughter used 2 towels and 2 bed rugs as pillows instead.An explanation: I’m not a native English speaker (google translated) and some words, which I should have said, I don’t know. None of our 10,000 guests have ever heard me screaming. Anyhow, I was not amused.When you checked out you didn't want to pay for the soldier's overnight stay because “he didn't eat”… I felt sorry for you and charged only 12 euros for the laundry. After all it was Christmas.

Perfectly perfect stay

Absolutely wonderful. We stayed in the Junior suite and I’m honestly surprised they had any availability as it is beautiful, the hostess was amazing, it’s in an adorable little town, great food, and overall an amazing experience. We’ve already decided that we will definitely stay there again. The breakfast room was cozy and beautifully decorated. The room was utilized to the fullest extent. Just exceeded our expectations!

Cannot say enough about this little Gem in the little village of Koenigstein!! The rooms were well stocked with everything you could need! They were neat and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The very best part is the wonderful Proprietor and Owner Irene! She was so very helpful with any of our needs. She helped us to find restaurants, Pharmacy, Covid testing and the proper tests! Every day she went out of her way to make us the most wonderful complete breakfasts, to help us with any request we had. She went over and above. This stay was warm, cozy, inviting, and absolutely the best stay ever. If you are visiting someone on the Base at Rose Barracks in Vilseck or just enjoying beautiful Bavaria you cannot find a nicer stay than here. Close to train stations, buses, etc. What an amazing stay we had. Cannot Thank Irene enough for all her assistance and kindness. You have got to stay at Haus am Markt!!! THANK YOU!!!!

I loved the large size of my room. The breakfast is very much worth it. Free wifi. Walking distance to bakery, market, ATM, and other restaurants. I would gladly stay there again.
