Thank you for the App that made me get a room for a full moon night.

Haha, you got lucky and we just released a last minute no-show! This full moon was CRAZY! Everything was sold out and rooms were selling in town for over $1000! It's a good reminder that Full Moon Party is the biggest party in Southeast Asia and the good rooms and beds sell out early, so book well in advance! Anyway, were glad we could save you and happy to have you partying with us. Hope to see you again! 😃

Don’t pay the money!

Posted 15 Nov 2019 on Hotels
This hostel is extremely over priced for what it is. Doors do not lock without your own padlock and not enough bathroom space. The cleanliness of this hostel was disgusting the bed sheets had bits on them. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Some of this review is misleading. First, we make a point to keep our pricing lower than average to offer superior accommodation at a lower price than others in our neighborhood, to make sure even fun budget travelers can join us! (This guest booked our cabin mini-rooms in dorms, as you will read below, which is a room type we invented specifically to give a privacy option for much cheaper than the price of a private hotel room!) All our private hotel rooms have standard locking doors. This guest did NOT stay in a private hotel room. She stayed in our dorms in one of our cabin mini-rooms that we CLEARLY advertise are NOT hotel rooms but rather wooden walled-off space inside our dorm for extra comfort and privacy. As such, the doors have a latch much like a bathroom stall, and an outer lock ring for you to use a padlock to lock your whole space like a giant locker, something you normally could not do in a dorm room! We think this is a big advantage for our customers, and 90+% of our customers carry a travel lock they can use, giving them extra security of using their own lock that only they have the key for. Most of our guests that read the descriptions and looked at the photos for what they booked are very happy with this extra privacy and security that other dorms do not offer! As for the other comments, the whole hostel is cleaned twice a day, and spot checked every few hours between. Our dorm areas with cabins like this guest stayed have 2 bathrooms for 12 people, 4 bathrooms for 20 people, or 3 bathrooms for 20 people. There are additional bathrooms that can be accessed as well. Since we are in the middle of full moon party, we do get glo-paint on the sheets frequently. Most guests understand that this is not dirty, and fairly unavoidable when your whole body gets painted for the party. We do our best to avoid it, but our other option is to charge 2000 baht to every customer that gets paint on their sheets like other hostels do, but we hate unfriendly policies like that. We are always happy to change sheets for you if there is a problem with a paint stain.

Staff were so welcoming and lovely, couldn’t fault any of them and if it wasn’t for them I would’ve had the worst night of my life. The “bunk beds” are horrendous, 1 aircon for about 6 mini cabins and then on their roofs are double mattresses with barely any space to the ceiling so you’re cramped. We paid extra to get our own space, which was cooler but still 1 aircon to share for loads of private rooms. Wasn’t expecting much but for the price we paid (£54 on full moon), it was a scam of our money for what we got in return. Even with our upgrade we still had shared toilets and were woken up in the early hours by a man continuously spewing. Fun place, the nightlife was excellent for pres and the people were amazing, but I don’t know how the hostel itself hasn’t yet been shut down. I will always now book in advance if we ever go full moon again, and never stay here. No wonder it was the only place on the island not sold out.

There are a lot of untruths to this review I'd like to address. First, we were actually far more sold out that most places in Haad Rin, with many hostels asking us to give them bookings. They only sold 5 or 6 of their 20 beds, while we have space for 150 people. When you stayed we had 135 guests! As for the one Aircon for 6 cabins, you forgot to mention that each cabin has their own built-in fan ventilation system that moves cool air through the whole building. It gets quite chilly, but cabins can control their individual cooling systems. The only heat problem is if guests leave both the bathroom doors and balcony doors open, creating a vacuum that sucks the cool air out. As for the bed, the one we gave you was literally the one in all our pictures on this site and others. Exactly as shown and represented. We made these custom as they are far more stable and comfortable than bunkbeds, on a flat platform with space to put your belongings, and space to crawl around instead of just a slatted metal frame with a mattress on it. We are constantly complimented on our unique bed and cabin designs as being much more accommodating and comfortable than the average hostel style. Yours is literally the first complaint we've ever had about them! We also offered you upgrades to our private cabin mini-rooms OR to a full private hotel room with private bathroom, but you declined. So to say you didn't get something you were offered but turned down is disingenuous. You told us you were happy and satisfied with the upgrade we offered you and you said you had no problems with anything. We wish you had talked to us at the time if you had a problem instead of telling multiple staff that you were happy and then writing a negative review. It seems insincere and unfair.

I stopped at the bar here at full moon and it was the craziest party on the block. Everyone was really friendly and the staff really seemed to love taking care of everyone. I made a ton of friends so when I was passing back through I stayed here. When it's not full moon it's pretty mellow but a great place to relax and have a drink with the staff and chill on the beaches. The place isn't fancy but staff keeps it clean. The beds aren't as hard as most hostels I've stayed in Thailand. They gave me an upgrade to these unique beds they have in the dorms that are tiny little wooden rooms. It gives you privacy and safety and has everything you need but much cheaper then a hotel room, and still easy to meet people. I recommend those! Hoping I'll be back next year again!

Great location as it is close to Haad Rin for the full moon party. A bit of a cramped hostel, cleanliness was average. The male manager appeared very rude and kicked out a group of girls as they were mistakenly overbooked. Woke up another morning to him yelling at 8am the next day. Don’t expect to sleep before 2am if you stay here as there is a bar attached that blares music. Great for meeting people, met a great group of friends to hang out/party with

Great host, great location!

The owner Loren is lovely. Always available with helpful tips to do around the island and also if you wanted a general chat. Great place to meet people as there is a bar on site. Accommodation is basic but the atmosphere definitely makes up for this. Highly recommened for the full moon as location is perfect, 5 min walk to the beach.

Our room flooded

Posted 30 Jan 2016 on Wotif
Our room, on the top floor, was in 2cm of water after it rained overnight and soaked through all of our belongings. We weren't offered an apology and the one unhelpful staff member was asleep at checkout time leaving us no where to safely store our now water damaged bags.
