Great A/C but NO hot water?
Posted 30 May 2019 on HotelsLovely location, a bit isolated. Room was large, clean, and the air conditioning worked well. The only problems we encountered during our stay was that there is no hot water in the bathroom (and none offered after asking) and that they charged us for breakfast when our reservation clearly stated 'breakfast included.' The charge was 2000 ksh (approx $20 USD) which is outrageous for this level of hotel and when we showed the front desk our confirmation, we were told that for our booking price breakfast was not included. We skipped breakfast on our second day! However, I must add that the staff was great, the linens were nice, and the bed was very comfortable. Overall we were happy with our stay.

The hotel is getting up and running after some time. The bed was very comfortable and the balcony was nice.

A quiet place for both relaxation and business.
Posted 3 Apr 2018 on HotelsTHe stay was fantastic. The room was spacious enough with a balcony giving a magnificent view of the lake. We greatly enjoyed the breakfast! The manager and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Although the place is currently under renovations, the management tried all their best to make our stay comfortable.

Hotel with excellent location and view

Pros: The location and staff are excellent
Cons: We were the last guests before a complete renovation would start, swimming pool and accommodation will be tuned up. The hotel was build in year 2011
Location: Visit the Impala zoo park
Take to the lake beach in town and enjoy fresh catcher fish in one of the many restaurants
see the harbour and museum
The hotel do have an excellent location not only because of the view over Lake Victoria, but also regarding the distance to centre (300KES in a tuck tuck (3$)
The Impala park zoo is just in front, so one can hear the lions, a walk around the park is also a visit worth, its only the "cats" that are in caves all other so as Giraffe, antelopes and hippos at just waking free around

Stay in another hotel
Posted 4 Feb 2016 on HotelsI checked-in at 11.45.Leave baggage in the room and go in the city.Came back in hotel at 01.30. Room was not clean properly, No bath towels, Ask for towels and gate keeper bring two dirty towels.No pillows in room.wardrobe door was hanging down (broke). Find bugs on the wall.was mosquitoes in the room.How can I sleep in this room.Any was I was not happy at all.I pick my baggage and left the hotel.And stay another place.Worse hotel I have come to cross.I believe I have to get compensation for this.

Pros: location and room was basically an apartment minus stove and fridge. it did have a microwave.
Cons: sell beverages and snacks at reception after restaurant closes.
Location: walking distance from Impala Park and a short ride to city center.
Parkview Hotel was satisfactory for myself, but not my wife. The price was right and the location is near city center. Rooms were clean, only problem was standing water in the bathroom between shower and toilet. One odd thing was the placement of the TV in the sitting room. From one couch I couldn't see it at all, from the second, half the screen was blocked by the arm of the other one. I suppose I could have rearranged things but since I was there for only one nite i didn't bother. Lady at reception was nice, but she couldn't find my reservation. I was allowed to check in anyway,(would this have been the case had they been busy?) being told her workmate would look for the res. he found it which was gud coz it was prepaid. Had a sandwich and fries from the restaurant. Sandwich was fine, fries were soggy, but i have come to the conclusion its a Kenyan thing. Returned from my inlaws around midnite, the restaurant being closed, i asked reception for a bottle of water. Was told he couldn't help me. About 5 minutes later he appeared at my door with a bottle of water(70ksh). It would have been nice if i could have gotten it before i dry swallowed 2 of the 3 pills i needed to take. I think breakfast was included in my rate but we didn't make it. In conclusion, its an acceptable place for a budget traveler as myself, but if you are a bit fussy or have a fussy wife, maybe this is not the place for you.

Amazing view!

Location: It is in a really quiet location, looking over the impala park to lake Victoria. I loved sitting on my balcony watching the sunset over the lake!
My view was amazing from the top floor! The food was good.This hotel is in desperate need of renovation! They keep it really clean but the fixtures are falling off the wall and the bed is not comfortable.
