Good view of the harbour, close to many shops, room heat and shower both good, bed was comfortable, restaurant was great for dinner, good for breakfast.
A bit noisy during the day from the adjacent street, but quiet at night.

Reception wasn’t very friendly, I felt like the person didn’t want to be bothered. Very unwelcoming, no smile, grumpy.

Room was perfect. View from the room looking over the harbour. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The food was amazing and the portions were large. No skimping on anything. Breakfast was really good and no pressure to rush.
Will definitely recommend and return to this hotel if we can come back to Orkney.
A big thank you to all the staff that looked after us.

The Ayre Hotel has a great location to central Kirkwall. Easy drive to the various points of interest on Orkney. Beautiful view, exceptional restaurant, congenial bar.

Dont bother with this place unless you really need the feel of Motel 6.
The Albert is but, much better hotel.
