The hotel and staff are good. However, there is a lot of construction going on nearby, so the view and the capabiltiy to relax on the balcony is terrible. The bar at the pool is nice and the restaurant is good. No real view of the ocean, but you can walk to the beach very quickly. All in all a good experience, but not great as the reviews would suggest.

We were very happy with our stay at the Maui coast hotel. There was construction happening during the day but otherwise it was very quiet. They had live music by the pool nightly and we appreciated the two hot tubs and the restaurant on site

The aloha spirit through and through! We loved how conveniently walkable the location was but even more so the courtesy shuttle within 2 miles of the hotel. We never had to wait long and the drivers were friendly and knowledgeable. We arrived quite early so walked to Three’s bar and grill and visited the souvenir shops while we waited for our room. They were kind enough to let us check in early though. We went to the pool every day and could always find an umbrella and chaise lounges. We ate at Kihei caffe and enjoyed the bar poolside as well as having eaten at the restaurant’s patio. ABC store was a great walkable option for fresh deli options. Rooms were clean and quiet even though there was construction on the property we were never disturbed or annoyed by it. The gift shop at the hotel would have been a convenient option but it was closed for most of our stay because the shop owner was on vacation! Our first stay in Maui and I would absolutely return to the Maui Coast Hotel again!

I am a Hawaii resident that has stayed at this hotel since it opened
I was put in a handicapped room without being made aware
I have worked 90 hours this week and I am here to relax
There are 2 hot tubs, my favorite, attached to pool, is Luke warm
The other is hot! Yippee
Very unhappy
Have not complained to front desk… YET

The Maui Coast property was delightful. We enjoyed the Aloha vibe and great service from everyone in every department. From the moment we arrived to the very last moments before we departed, the front desk staff, the cleaning staff, the poolside bar and restaurant staff, the Caffé Kihei staff, and the shuttle driver.
Our room was extremely comfortable. It has a lovely little outdoor sitting area with a terrific garden of native plants. The beds and bedding are top notch. The room has a wall safe, a large refrigerator, a microwave, coffee maker, nice glassware and mugs(not plastic!), great water pressure and the mirror has a heated center area so you can see even after a steaming hot bath or shower.
The pool is great and there is a friendly bar with live music every night. It is a lively resort without being obnoxiously noisy or crowded.
Additionally, the location is terrific if you like walking. We wanted a vacation without the trappings of a car and this is the perfect place. When we wanted to go a little farther than we wanted to walk, they offer shuttle services for up to three miles in a very clean, comfortable and high model minivan with a very kind driver.
We would stay here again in a minute!
There is construction next door on a new phase. They have done a nice job blocking it off. It was noisy at times, but not awful. It was never an issue for us. If you are picky and like to complain, don’t stay here! Everyone and everything here is wonderful!
