Really nice but filthy bathroom
Posted 9 Apr 2023 on HotelsGreat room, nice hotel building and great location for the ferry but bathroom was filthy with the shower area, around the floor and near the toilet looking like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Some sort of proudly-displayed "Green is the new clean!" but I'd strongly suggest going back to old-fashioned cleaning instead of letting nature take its course in a hotel bathroom. You could literally see the splash-pattern of previous guest's urine on the glass wall of the shower (see photo).
The room was large, bed was comfortable and the hotel is pet-friendly but I wouldn't use that bathroom if they paid me to stay there.

Very good value for the money
Posted 25 Nov 2021 on HotelsWe were a family of 4. Had 4 beds and the room was very big with sofa, desk and TV. The breakfast was very good, with eggs, bacon, meat balls, bread, cake, yoghurt, fruit, cheese and so on. You can walk to center of Kiel. Free parking on the street in front of the hotel.

A nice hotel with a wonderful breakfast buffet
Posted 1 Aug 2021 on HotelsWe had a nice stay at Hotel Kiel. The room was very clean and comfortable, but a little worn. We were disappointed that there was no fitness room as advertised.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really nice.

internet was slow. the system throttled me and I was unable to use my computer at all due to it taking almost 3 days to complete downloading a small update.
asked for a king size bed. got 2 single beds pushed up together. had to bring it up to the staff at the front desk in order to fix the disparity in what I was being charged vs what I had. mattresses were standard springs even though I was supposed to be in a "comfort" room (protip, the bed wasn't comfortable)

Rooms are good but breakfast could be better !

Though staff was friendly and helpful, there were issues with credit card paymets at end of the stay to.cover parking, meals and other incidentals. They pretend that they are not able to process American Express and try to push for other cards.
