Avoid thsi hotel.
Posted 7 Jun 2018 on HotelsThere was no hotel nemed Holiday house, because they have changed name as Ancient Center...and it’s difficult to find with old name. Its bad when you travel with wife and luggage. Only good thing is good testy breakfast.:) no wifi in room.

First Night in Kathmandu

Location: Tip for travelers - Hotel Holiday Kathmandu is located in Thamel, in an area where cars/taxis aren't able to drive in. About a 4 minute walk.
Had a fine stay with the Holiday Hotel House in Kathmandu. The wi-fi was strong, indoor bathroom with hot water, and easy check-in. Nice, no frills place for a quick stay in Kathmandu.

No room available as advertised
Posted 15 Oct 2017I got to the hotel after a long hike and motorbike ride only to be told they had no room available. However they offered an alternative in a substandard hotel for the same price and I questioned why, his explanation was that Expedia only paid $16 instead of $21 I paid. After an hour and a half, I was was offered a refund of $14 or settle with the substandard room and service.
I'm very disappointed in both Expedia and the holiday for false advertising and will like to demand an explanation.

Posted 22 Sep 2017 on WotifWe went there a week ago and we're still thinking about it. The place was very convenient and the hotel clean and incredibly peaceful. The staff were very friendly and food was good. Kathmandu can be a bit overwhelming but the hotel offers a nice environment close to supermarkets, travel agencies, shops and restaurants.

Old, Old-Fashioned Hotel

Pros: Good staff, nice breakfast, central location
Cons: new plumbing
Location: Central Thamel, everything needed is nearby. Please remember that in July, 2017 the streets are very muddy.
An old, and old-fashioned hotel, minimal facilities, but very good staff.
