Food was good, people are friendly and helpful. Rooms are well kept. Off the main street so not a lot of traffic noise.

Good location for eating and shopping
Posted 2 Jan 2019 on HotelsIf you are comfortable to stay at a room like a college dorm, this facility fits your need. They provide American style breakfast (Two Toasts with Butter and Jam, Sunny side or Fried egg (two eggs), Banana, and Coffee or Tea). Sometime you may encounter blackout (not facility's fault), so I recommend you to have a battery for smartphone, and flashlight. They have a scale to check your luggage weight before your departure. Just ask at a front desk.

A great place to stay before/after trekking
Posted 2 Nov 2018 on HotelsThe staff at Andes house were fantastic. They picked us up at the airport, helped organize a fantastic guide for the Annapurna circuit and fed us a delicious breakfast. The water cooler in the hotel is also very handy. They were also very quick to fix our toilet when it broke. Very convenient location right in the heart of Thamel and close to the tourist bus station. Rooms are basic but everything you need.

A little bit of quiet in the middle of the city

Pros: The hosts, the location, the hot water, the beds.
Cons: Having outlets that work in the room.
Location: You are in the heart of the Thamel, right around the corner from the main street. Monkey Temple is a half hour walk away.
We stayed twice. Dipak and Babu are very nice hosts and I would highly recommend staying with them. The rooms are simple but comfortable. There is always hot water and a nice area to just hang out. My son and I enjoyed the area, as we were walking distance to OR2K and all the hub if we wanted but had quiet to come back to.

No free toiletries in the room. Many strains on the bed sheets. Nobody never cleaned or checked the room for some new towels or a garbage. Stupid jokes of the owner about marijuana. The neighbourhood has no lights in the evening. Wifi works only in the garden. I asked for a calm room and I got a very noisy one! Disco at night and many talks in the garden during all day.

Great place!! Friendly staff, clean rooms, and a very pleasant garden/courtyard plus a balcony on top. Defibately not the cheapest in town, but THE most comfortable beds I've ever stayed on in a hotel (memory foam quality). Free breakfast included is a nice perk too. Nicely located in Thamel.
